"I really am sorry Clara!" Ace said as he stopped playing and looked at me," drunk or not, there's no excuse for what I did to you. You already went through so much."

"It's okay," I said quietly.

"No it's not," Ace sighed," what I did was a real dick move! Can you ever forgive me?" I looked at him and saw nothing but regret and desperation in his eyes. I nodded, which caused him to smile. He pecked me lightly on the lips then went back to playing that beautiful melody. Ace and I spent the rest of the day together in the music room talking. He could play so many different instruments. I smiled as he played that beautiful melody on the piano.

"That song really is beautiful!" I said in awe.

"My mother wrote it for me shortly after I was born. She would play it for me every night before I fell asleep," Ace said.

"You and Angelina are pretty close aren't you?" I asked.

"Were," Ace said sadly," I left home when I was fifteen. When I came back that was the first time in centuries I had seen her."

"Oh,' I said," what about you and Artemis?"

"My father and I have a complicated and very rocky relationship," Ace hissed.

"Why?" I asked him.

"It's a long story and I don't want to talk about it," Ace said as he stood up. I sighed and followed after him. We went to the bedroom and went to bed.

"CLARA!?" I heard as I ran through the forest," CLARA!? WHERE ARE YOU!?" I could hear the panic in his voice. I tried to run to him, but I tripped and fell. I tried to get back up but was pinned to the ground on my back. I was looking into a pair of pure black-eyes that sent chills down my spine.

"You're mine now!" He growled.

I woke up with sweat beading down my face. Ace was next to me out cold. I looked at the clock and sighed.

Three thirty in the morning! I thought to myself. I sighed and headed into the bathroom. I splashed some water on my face and the nape of my neck trying to shake this feel of dread I had in my stomach. Something bad is going to happen soon, I know it!

"Everything alright?" I jumped," sorry love."

"It's okay," I said as Ace wrapped his arms around me," just a nightmare,"

"Do you want to talk about it?" Ace asked.

"No," I said turning to face him," just a bad feeling is all."

"I know," Ace sighed," I can feel it too."

"Something bad is going to happen," I said," and soon!"

"Whatever it is, we'll face it together," Ace said kissing my head," I promise!" I sighed. I hope this is all over soon! We walked back into the bedroom and went back to bed. The next few days were spent trying to prepare for whatever it is that was coming. Which was hard because we didn't know what that was!

"Well, we did the best we could," Ace said as we walked along the perimeter," you can only prepare so much when you don't know what it is that you're facing."

"Unfortunately," I sighed," I'm going to go back up to the house."

"Alright, I'll walk you back," Ace said," I need to speak with my father anyway." We walked back to the house in silence. I couldn't shake this feeling that we would never be able to prepare for whatever it is that is coming. All I knew is that whatever it was, was going to be bad! When we finally got back to the house I went and sat on the couch trying to relax and calm down. I still couldn't get over Kyle's death and how he had died because of me. Why is it that everyone I care about either gets hurt or dies because of me? What makes me so special that people are willing to hurt and kill those who are trying to protect me? I frowned as I thought about everyone who has died because of me. I sighed and decided to go upstairs and lay down.

When I opened my eyes I saw that I was surrounded by woods. I as confused because I was just in my room at the house.

"Hello pet," I turned and saw Jackson looking at me with an evil grin on his face.

"What are you doing here!?" I asked backing away from him scared," Artemis told you to leave!"

"And I did!" He smirked," I'm in your head Clara! It's the only way I can get to you without anyone finding out... Oh, and if you tell anyone I will make sure you suffer a fate far worse than death!" I stood there frozen with fear as he walked over to me.

"I meant what I said when I said I would be back for you pet!" Jackson said pinning me to a tree," you will be mine! I promise you that!"

"I will never be yours!" I said putting as much acid in my voice as possible," Ace will find you and he will kill you!"

"We'll see about that!" Jackson said with amusement in his eyes before his lips crashed down on mine.

I jolted up looking around confused with sweat beading down my face. After the fuzziness and confusion went away I realized I was still in our room. I sighed in relief and laid back down. I frowned when I saw Ace was gone. I hated waking up alone. However, he had left me a note. It read:

Clara,

There was a disturbance at the perimeter. I went with my father to check it out. I'm sorry I'm not there when you wake up. My mother is downstairs, and she would like you to join her for breakfast! I promise I will be back as soon as I can.

Love always,

Ace

I sighed and laid there staring at the ceiling for a bit before I finally got up. I threw on a pair of sweatpants and a baggy t-shirt, then went downstairs.

"Good morning dear!" Angelina smiled when I walked into the kitchen.

"Morning," I mumbled sitting at the bar.

"Rough night?" She asked handing me a cup of coffee.

"Bad dreams," I said not going into specifics.

"After all you've been through recently, I'm not surprised," Angelina said gently," would you like a muffin dear?"

"I would love a muffin," I smiled. Angelina made delicious muffins of all kinds. She made blueberry, strawberry, banana, raspberry, chocolate chip and so many other ones. My personal favorite are the raspberry muffins.

"Raspberry?" She smiled.

"Yes please," I said. She set a plate of freshly baked raspberry muffins in the middle of the island, then sat down. We spent all morning just talking about anything and everything, snacking here and there on the muffins. Being with her felt like I had a real mother. She gave me the kind of relationship I wish I could have had with my mother.

"Good morning beautiful!" I jumped," sorry." Ace smirked and I rolled my eyes.

"I swear, you enjoy sneaking up on me way to much!" I said around a bite of muffin.

"Maybe," He shrugged grabbing a blueberry muffin," how'd you sleep?"

"Fine," I said.

"More bad dreams?" Ace sighed.

"Yeah, but it's okay," I shrugged," bad dream are just a part of life!" We sat there talking and eating muffins for a bit before we decided to go out for a walk.

"So, did you guys find anything at the perimeter?" I asked as Ace and I walked along the trail.

"We found evidence that someone had gotten through," Ace said looking around cautiously," but we didn't find anyone."

"Oh," I said as Ace took my hand smiling.

"You know I love you right?" Ace smiled at me.

"Of course, I do!" I smiled back. Before either one of us could say anything else, Ace was on the ground unconscious!

"ACE!" I said kneeling beside him.

"I told you that you would be mine pet!" I froze," and I stick to my word!" Jackson grabbed me and flung me over his shoulder.

"PUT ME DOWN!" I screamed kicking and flailing trying to get free.

"Not a chance pet!" Jackson said just before everything went black.
