After a few days I began to worry. What if Ryder really did get to my family this time? What if he got to Ace? Elena came to see me every day, bringing me food and things that I needed or wanted. She was so nice to me. She made sure that I was properly taken care of and that I was treated like a person and not like something Ryder scraped off the bottom of his shoes. I frowned as I thought about Ace and how much I missed him. I sighed as I stared at the ceiling. I know Ace is on his way to save me, but Ryder has an entire army. Unless Ace can somehow come up with an entire army, which I am not entirely sure about because the compound was destroyed. Where are you Ace!? Then it hit me.

"I'm such an idiot!" I frowned. I closed my eyes and concentrated on Ace.

Ace!? Can you hear me!? I thought hoping he could.

"Yes, I can little pup!" I opened my eyes and sat up. Ace was standing in the doorway smiling at me.

"Ace!?" I asked happily.

"It's me beautiful," Ace said as he walked over to me and unlocked the chains. I stood up and hugged him. I smiled as I felt him wrap his arms around me.

"We have to go beautiful," Ace gently pushing me away," there is a war going on out there and I don't want you in the middle of it."

"What!?" I asked looking at him.

"I'll explain everything after we get you away from here safely," Ace said grabbing my hand and leading me out of the cell I was in. I was almost blinded by the light. As my eyes adjusted, I saw the bodies lying on the ground. Which, that didn't really bother me, except one of the bodies was.... Elena's. I fought the tears that threatened to spill over. I forced them back and followed Ace out of the dungeons. We went up the stairs and walked out of the house. When we did, I heard yelling and shouting and was instantly consumed by the smell of blood.

"Don't look Clara," Ace said as he picked me up and used his vampire speed to get us out of there and to his truck. Even in the truck I could still hear and smell everything. He got in and drove away from Ryders compound. I didn't know what to do. Everything was just out of control. How did my life end up like this? I had such a normal life. Everything was fine. I mean I was a troublemaker and rebelled a lot, but I had good life. I sighed staring out the window as Ace drove down the road.

"What is it pup?" Ace asked worriedly.

"Everything," I said not looking at him," my life has spiraled out of control. How did my life become so chaotic!?"

"Clara," Ace sighed," I know you're upset and feeling down right now but I promised you I would protect and that things would get better, and I meant it!"

"I know that but the most I ever had to worry about was getting grounded," I frowned," how did my life get so fucked up Ace?"

"I don't know Clara," Ace sighed sounding frustrated.

"What?" I asked.

"Clara," Ace said," I know you're upset, and things are chaotic right now, but complaining about it and bitching isn't going to change anything! So just be happy that you're alive and that we are safe!"

"Fuck you Ace!" I growled," just fucking drive the truck and get us as far away from Ryder as possible."

"Lose the attitude Clara!" Ace sighed," I wasn't trying to piss you off."

"I don't care, just leave me alone and take me home!" I mumbled.

"Clara! Please will you stop pacing!?" Lena asked for the hundredth time.
