"seungmin.." haru gaped at the boy before her, attempting to form a response. "i'm sorry."
eric and sanha fell silent after reading the blatantly uncomfortable vibe that eventually managed to travel through their thick skull.
"i'm sorry min, you're right about everything. i am keeping things from you and lix" the girl apologised, eyes watering from the guilt of ever letting her friend ever feel betrayed by her actions. "i never meant to hurt you, you guys are my best friends–"
"haru!" seungmin cut her off "i appreciate the heart felt moment but can we do it in a place where we're not in immanent danger?"
he had a point.
"come on guys let's get out here, i don't know about you but i'm not saying this is a good thing but i did not study for my history test next period." hyunjin awaited his classmates to agree.
"we almost died."
"i feel like my problem is kinda disproportionate to yours now that you say it outloud." he pondered, nibbling on his nails.
"hyunjin is right." everyone glanced at yeji for her outrageous words "right as in we need to get out here, sanha how's your condition?"
the lanky boy shook his head "i think i broke my leg, i tripped over a diary of a wimpy kid book."
"you stepped on my book!" haru shrieked before nervously coughing "i mean oh so misfortune."
the group of teenagers escaped from the storage room, all holding each other to the run to the nearest exit. eric's short ass hauled sanha's tall ass whilst hyunjin helped seungmin. haru took it upon herself to help her cousin yeji. safety was so close.
"hey." seungmin whispered to the girl beside her. she glanced up at him. "i just wanted to say i'm sorry too. i'm sorry for reacting like that, i'm sure you have your own reasons but you can always tell us what's going on. you can trust me."
haru returned a smile, she was grateful to have mended her friendship even it was on the constant verge of death. but something didn't feel right. whilst escaping, she curtly stopped in her tracks causing the others to also pause.
"haru what's wrong?" yeji asked concerned.
"i heard someone." she said.
"yeah probably someone who wants to kill us so let's keep moving." hyunjin tried to tug seungmin along but he was a lot heavier than he looked. "what did you eat?"
"no it was someone crying for help. i need to go to them."
"alone? are you crazy!?"
