Annabeth stepped out of her cabin and as she did, she saw a dark mass as it went shooting up into the clouds. A black horse-looking creature with wings and a figure on its back. A figure with a head of raven black hair. She realized with a jolt that it was Percy and Blackjack.

Weird. The daughter of Athena thought. There's NO way that could be my boyfriend. He knows better than to blatantly lie to me. But she'd recognize that hair anywhere. Annabeth was a little upset, but just pushed it to the back of her mind and went about her day.

I'll talk to him at lunch. She told herself, but he wasn't at lunch. Nor was he at dinner. The son of Poseidon did not make an appearance until curfew. Annabeth was just heading into Cabin 6 when she saw a shadow over the Poseidon cabin before it flew down just behind it. She thought she had imagined it but Annabeth being Annabeth, she decided to investigate.

The head of the Athena cabin called to Malcolm, her half-brother, that she was going to go check on something. Malcolm gives her a worried look but nods. "Just, be careful. I don't want you being eaten by the cleaning harpies. You remember what happened to that one new kid last week."

It's hard NOT to. She thought glumly. There was this poor kid that had just arrived that day. Travis and Connor- the heads of the Hermes cabin- had been so busy teaching the kids 'important life skills' as they called it, they hadn't noticed that poor little Eleanor was far behind. She got lost, it being her first day and all, and it was dark.

She stumbled around for a few minutes before the harpies found her. I have no idea whose idea it was to use harpies. Oh well. Annabeth! Focus! Dark mass, Cabin 3, Percy lying to you! That one got her attention. Annabeth ran past Malcolm, grabbed her Yankees hat, and pulled it onto her head as she sprinted across the yard to her boyfriend's cabin.

As she got closer, Annabeth could hear quiet murmurs as she crept around the side of the cabin and to the back where she saw the shadow land. "Thanks, Blackjack. I really just needed a day off." Silence. "Yes, I will try to have doughnuts for you next time." Percy gave a small chuckle and a moment later the same shadow from earlier flew off again towards the stables. Annabeth had been watching the shadow so intensely that she had not noticed a certain tall, sea-green-eyed, son of Poseidon round the corner until she was on top of him.

"Annabeth?" He hissed under his breath trying to be as quiet as possible so as to not arouse the cleaning harpies. She sheepishly pulled off her cap and gave Percy a small smile. She motioned for Percy to get to his feet and he scrambled off of her and helped the daughter of Athena up. Still holding her hand, Percy led Annabeth around to the front of the cabin and inside. Once the door was closed and they were out of the harpies' wrath of destruction, Annabeth immediately launched into a frenzy of questions and comments while the poor son of Poseidon just stood there waiting for his girlfriend to finish her rant.

When she was finally done, Percy took a deep breath and told Annabeth the lie that he had been constructing in his head in the event that something like this happened. "Listen, I know you told me to go to the infirmary after breakfast but I really, really didn't want to go back in there after I had just gotten out so I decided to just take Blackjack and go out and spend the day on the water. It helped. I'm sorry for not telling you in advance okay? I just...really wanted some alone time."

"With the talkative Pegasus?" Annabeth asked, taunting Percy.

"I-" Percy started, then glared at his girlfriend before sticking his tongue out at her. Annabeth rolled her eyes as she looped her arms around her boyfriend's neck.

"Seaweed Brain," She muttered as she gave him a peck on the cheek.

"Wise Girl," Percy said in return as he hugged his girlfriend. They stayed standing like that for a while before they finally released from one another's embrace.

"C...Can you stay tonight?" Percy asked shyly. Annabeth smiled.

"Of course Seaweed Brain." The daughter of Athena walked over to where she kept her stuff and went to the bathroom to change. When she came back, Percy was sitting on his bead and appeared to be deep in thought. "You okay?" Annabeth asked as she walked over to Percy, dropping her clothes from the day at the foot of the bed.

"What? Oh yeah, I'm okay. Just, thinking." The son of Poseidon grabbed his girlfriend's hand and pulled her down onto the bed with him before laying down with her following his example. Percy wrapped a protective arm around his girlfriend as the daughter of Athena curled into her boyfriend's side and fell asleep.

"I love you," Percy whispered to the sleeping ball beside him. Annabeth muttered something that sounded vaguely like love you too But Percy wasn't sure. The last thing he remembered was listening to the steady breathing of his beautiful Wise Girl before the world faded away and he was pulled into the world of Morpheus where he hoped the god of sleep would let him have just one night of good dreams.

I hope you have an amazing minute, an amazing hour, an amazing day, an amazing year, and an amazing life.
