Chapter 6: The Side-Affect

As soon as Kion and Timothy were done talking, they both yawned then looked at each other, "We should probably head back to sleep." Kion suggested. Timothy nodded in response then started to follow Kion back to the Lion Guard Lair. While walking, Kion could tell something was off, so he looked behind him and looked around him, making Timothy confused. "What is it?" Timothy asked with a confused look on his face. "I think we're being watched." Kion replied as he turned around and walked the other way. Timothy walked up to Kion's left side while following him. They looked at the grass and then a Scorpion popped out.

Both Kion and Timothy immediately jumped back and looked at the Scorpion. "Are you the Scorpion that stung me?" Timothy asked while glaring at the Scorpion. The Scorpion just laughed, "I honestly don't know what you're talking about." The Scorpion lied, "My name is Kudhibiti and I was just passing through, until I heard sobbing." Kudhibiti explained. Kion glared at the Scorpion, "So, why are you here then?" Kion asked. Kudhibiti looked at Kion, "Hmm? Oh, I just came here to tell your human friend something." The Scorpion replied. "Tell me what?" Timothy asked with a confused look on his face.

An evil smile formed on Kudhibiti's face and snickered quietly then looked at Timothy, "Oh nothing, just to tell you to... " Kudhibiti paused to look at Kion then back at Timothy. "Kill Kion and the Lion Guard!" Kudhibiti ordered with an evil smile. "WHAT!" Kion yelled in shock, but Timothy on the other hand, started screaming in pain as he put his hands on the sides of his head. Kudhibiti smiled evilly seeing Timothy trying to fight his side-affect, but he knew that it will soon take him over. Kion was worried when he saw Timothy in pain, "Timothy... what's wrong?" Kion asked in a worried tone. Even though his head was hurting so bad, Timothy tried to reply, "THE... SIDE-AFFECT... IT'S... TAKING... OVER!" Timothy said through his grunts, "KION... GET... OUT... OF... HERE." Timothy added through his grunts. "I'm not leaving you here." Kion said with a worried look on his face. "KION... " Timothy was about to say, but started screaming again. Kion didn't want to leave Timothy, but he knew he was right. "Me and the Guard will find the cure Timothy, I promise." Kion said before he started running off towards the Lion Guard Lair.

Kudhibiti hid in the grass with Shupavu until they know Timothy was completely under the side-affect. All of a sudden when Timothy was on his knees and his head hanging down, he stopped screaming and released his hands from his head and stood up and raised his head, but when Timothy opened his eyes, his brown-colored eyes turned into a fiery red color. Timothy was completely under the side-affect! Shupavu and Kudhibiti came out of hiding and smiled evilly at Timothy.

Meanwhile with Kion, he made it to the Lair and went inside yelling. "GUYS, GUYS WAKE UP!" Kion said while yelling. Fuli, Beshte and Ono got up quickly, but Bunga was still on the ground, "Can you keep it down Kion?" Bunga asked, "It's not even morning yet." Bunga added as he tried to fall back asleep. Kion looked at Bunga, "Well, which is worse? Waking up in the middle of the night, or Timothy killing us all?" Kion revealed, which immediately made Bunga jump to his feet. "WHAT!" All of the Lion Guard said, "Tell me you're joking, please tell me you're joking!" Bunga said trying to sound positive. "No Bunga, I'm not joking." Kion replied, "It's the side-affect." Kion explained.

After Kion said that, Ono flew down in front of him, "But from what I heard from Rafiki, the side-affect is useless unless the Emperor Scorpion tells Timothy what to do." Ono said. Kion sighed while looking down then looked back at Ono and the Guard, "That's just it." Kion said with a sad look on his face, "There was a Scorpion out there and when it told Timothy to kill us and Timothy was losing himself to the side-affect." Kion explained while looking down.

Everyone noticed Kion was feeling down, "Kion, are you okay?" Fuli asked while looking at Kion with a sad look on her face. Kion looked back at his friends, "It's just... Timothy has been a good friend to us." Kion said. "Indeed." Ono agreed. "Yeah." Bunga agreed. "That's right." Beshte agreed. "Like back in the Outlands the other day." Fuli recalled. "Yeah, he helped us." Kion said, "I made a promise to him that we will find a cure." Kion said, "Timothy helped us in the Outlands, now I say we help him in return." Kion added. "I'm with him. Who else?" Bunga said while raising his arms in the air. Both Beshte and Ono nodded their heads at Kion with a smile. "We're all with you Kion." Fuli said with a smile on her face. Kion smiled as well, knowing that his friends will help bring back another friend of theirs. "So, what do we do next?" Bunga asked while scratching his head.

After Bunga asked that question, a Martial Eagle with purple feathers came flying into the Lair. "LION GUARD, LION GUARD!" The Martial Eagle said while yelling. Kion and the Guard looked at the Martial Eagle and saw it was another one of their friends. "Anga? What is it?" Kion asked with a surprise look on his face. "There's a human in the Pride Lands, and he's heading your way!" Anga replied. Kion and the Guard had surprising looks on their faces when Anga said that. "Kion, do you think it could be... " Beshte was about to say, but Kion answered right away, "Yes, it's got to be Timothy." Kion answered. "Timothy?" Anga asked with a confused look on her face. "It's a long story." Ono said

Kion walked until he was at the entrance of the Lair and looked outside then looked back at his friends, "Lion Guard, let's get our friend back." Kion said with a confident smile, "Till the Pride Lands End... " Kion started, "Lion Guard Defend!" The rest of the Guard finished. After saying their motto, they ran outside of the Lair, while heading towards Timothy, who was now under the spell of the side-affect.

Next time on The Golden Guardian Adventures: Timothy and the Lion Guard; Timothy is now under the spell of the side-affect, and no matter how hard he tries to fight it, it's too strong. Kion made a promise to find the cure for the side-affect so he can free Timothy from it forever. As for Timothy, he's trapped within his own mind, while the rest of his body is doing what Kudhibiti is ordering him to do. Will Kion and the Lion Guard find the cure before it's too late? Will Timothy try to fight against the side-affect again? Will Kion and Timothy ever see each other again? Will Timothy ever be free from not only the side-affect, but from his curse?
