Zayn's Pov:
How am I supposed to make it up to Niall? How am I supposed to prove to him that I'm sorry, When I don't know how to, And he won't let me. I know Niall's hurting, I can't imagine the pain he's gone through. I don't understand what Niall wants from me, He can't pin everything on me, Because it wasn't all my fault, Niall he had apart to play in the whole thing, He could have fought for our friendship but he didn't, So I don't understand why I'm the one who has to take full blame. Niall's ok to turn to Cher but not me, Now I'm not going to lie, I'm jealous, I'm jealous of Cher and Niall's friendship, The friendship they have is the one me and Niall used to share. I want our friendship back, But I don't want to be the only one fighting for it, If Niall wants me to apologize for wanting to fit in then he's going to have a really long wait, I sighed as I walked up the stairs to tell Niall we were leaving for school, For the past week Niall's been avoiding school but he has to go back sooner of later. I walked up the stairs to hear Niall winching silently, I slowly walked over to the door to find Niall putting a shirt over his beaten body, A lump grew inside my throat, He looks terrible, So broken, How can he act so normal when he's carrying all those reminders on his body? He shouldn't have gone through that, I wasn't ready when I told my mum she could tell me what's been happening to him, I wasn't ready when she told me, Now I don't know how to be there, Because Niall's just pushing me away, How can I be there when he won't let me? What do I have to do? I sighed as I knocked on the door.
"Come in" Niall said, I walked into the room.
"I'm leaving now, Do you need a lift?" I asked, Niall nodded.
"Can we pick up Cher on the way?" He asked, I nodded my head.
"Sure" I replied before grabbing my bag and leaving the room.
The journey to school was horrible, All I could see was Niall cuddling into Cher, She had her arms protectively around him, The lump inside my throat was growing bigger with each second, That should be me comforting Niall, Not her. I was there first, Now Cher she's just taken my place. I sighed as I drove into the school parking lot, Finally I can get out this damn car.
"Thanks for the lift Zayn" Niall whispered.
"It's alright Niall" I replied, Cher glared at me.
"Yeah thanks" Cher stated.
"No problem" I replied, Niall and Cher then climbed out the car and made there way into school, Someone up there fucking hates me.
"Zayn, What the fuck are you doing with Horan?" Louis stated as I walked up to my locker.
"What do you mean?" I asked as I opened my locker.
"We mean you giving Horan and Lloyd a lift to school this morning, Half the school saw them climbing out your car" Harry exclaimed, I shrugged my shoulders.
"Niall's staying at mine for a while" I replied.
"Why?" Liam asked, I gave him a look before replying.
"Dosen't matter, It won't affect anything" I stated.
"It better not" Louis stated before walking off, Harry followed after him quickly.
"You going to tell me what's going on?" Liam asked, I shook my head.
"Not right now Li" I replied.
"Is Niall ok?" He asked, Liam may be part of the popular crowd but honestly he wouldn't hurt a fly, And he dosen't have a problem with Niall or Cher.
"He will be, I'll tell you when I know what's going on" I stated, Liam gave me a confused look.
"That dosen't make sense" He exclaimed.
"Nothing does" I mumbled before walking off.
"Where you been Horan? Why you trying to hang around Zayn?" I heard Louis voice as I walked to lunch.
"I'd get the fuck away from him if I was you Tomlinson" Cher's voice sounded in my ears, I quickly rushed over to Niall's table with Liam following closely behind me.
"Stay out of this Lloyd" Harry said.
"Make me curly" Cher spat.
"What the fuck is going on?!" I stated as I went inbetween Cher and the boys.
"Just making it clear to Niall to stay away from you" Louis said.
"Just stay away from him alright, He dosen't need you fucking dragging him down" I stated, Louis and Harry's eyes widened, I gave them a warning look, They then nodded there heads before walking off.
"You alright?" I asked turning my attention to Niall.
"Erm, Yeah, Thank you" He whispered, I nodded my head.
"I better get going to English, Niall I'll meet you at the car after school ok?" I said, Niall nodded his head, I was just about to leave when I heard Cher's voice.
"Zayn wait, Niall you ok going to class?" She asked, Niall nodded his head, Cher then rushed up to me, "Can I walk with you?" She asked, I nodded my head and saw a small smile spread across Niall's face.
"Why did you do that?" She asked as we walked to English, I shrugged my shoulders.
"He's been through enough right?" I stated.
"Bullshit" Cher stated, I rolled my eyes.
"Listen you don't know anything about me so back off" I stated before going to walk off.
"I know your talking bullshit! I saw it in your eyes back there Zayn, Normally you would have stood back and watch them tear him down, But now you know how much he's suffered you want to be there for him, You want to be his strength when he's weak, You want to hold onto his hope when he's ready to let go, When he cries you want to be the one he runs to, When he's lost and afraid you want him to turn to you so you can be the one to help him through it, You want to be me" Cher exclaimed, I sighed.
"So what if I do? It's never gonna happen" I replied.
"How do you know that?" She asked.
"Because he's given up, He's given up on our friendship" I stated, Cher shook her head.
"No, You gave up on it Zayn, Niall he never gave up, He always hoped that one day you would turn around and tell him the words he needs to hear" Cher explained.
"What's the point? He has you, You've already taken my place" I stated.
"Are you really that fucking stupid?" Cher stated.
"What?" I asked.
"You could never be replaced in Niall's heart, He may act like he's moved on because that's all he has, All he can do is pretend, He had to pretend his dad wasn't beating him, He had to pretend to be strong when really he was breaking down, Pretending is all he has, But you have to show him that you see past the act, I may be Niall's best friend but that dosen't mean I've taken your place, He's just made some more room in his heart to let me in, He needs you Zayn, He's always needed you, I know I can help Niall through this, But I also know you could to" Cher explained, I sighed.
"How?" I asked.
"You have to keep determined, You can't give up no matter how much he pushes you away" Cher stated, I sighed before biting my lip.
"How do I do that?" I replied.
"You have to love him through it all" Cher stated before walking into class, I sighed, Niall was right, I'm the reason were not friends anymore, I'm the one who has to make it right, Together I know me and Cher can get him through this, I just hope I'm not to late.
