I'm drowning in the river
buried six feet down
losing all hope control and will
just barely trying.
in poetry, which is
metaphor hyperbole or truth
dancing the lines between
hate pain and hope.
I'm laughing so hard I want to die
cursed to smile
forced to cry
but where am I really?
am I in the arms of God or in the pits of hell?
am I in the sewer having a nice dream.
such trivial, important
things.
yet this is not what I mean to express
thoughts skew, mind wanders
trying but unable
to cope.
and cope with what?

thoughts.
