11-that woman on a log

53 3 5

That woman on a log,

wrinkled as a hog,

silently watching the people stroll past,

each one different than the last.

That man in the bar,

hiding from his life,

the man who drove that car,

that killed his wife.

Hero's old armor still on the wall,

the no longer shiny metal seen by all,

long ago forgot it's hate and rage,

just another book, just another page.

The magnificent crown on the kings head,

many search it's favor,

even though the wearer is always quickly dead,

it's wealth and power, they savor.

The gunshot right before dawn,

the blood spilling on the lawn,

the death of the innocent is always the worst,

hopeful lives are always reversed.
