Project Nagini

Part 9

Through a haze of pain, Nagini saw Sakura protecting her.

That can't be right. Sakura is the one who always falls first, thought Nagini as she got ducked under again.

Once she got back up, she knew that it was for good this time. Nagini couldn't stand up just yet, so she craned her neck and gasped at what she saw.

Bushy- Brow-Rock Lee- was laying down on the floor, blood leaking out of his left ear.

Sakura was crying, one of the sound ninja grabbing her hair. The other two sound ninja's just sneered at her, watching.

Nagini could hear Sakura whimpering, she was about to yell at her, but then she sensed her chakra. It was almost gone.

With a shock, Nagini realized that Sakura must have stayed up all night.

Wait, but where are Naruto and Sasuke? Nagini slowly turned her head around, wincing, and gasped when she saw Naruto and Sasuke unconscious. That's why! They both are still knocked out from the battle! Sakura has been taking care of us this whole entire time! 

I hate to admit it but... we owe Sakura! Nagini craned her neck to look at Sakura.

Sakura was still tied up. But, she was grinning.

Before Nagini could figure out why Sakura was grinning, Sakura's hand shot up and cut her hair. She cut her hair, to escape from the sound ninja's grasp.

Just then, Shikamaru, Choji, and Ino came.

"We didn't want to, but we had to rescue your weak butt," yelled Ino.

"Yeah right," muttered Shikamaru. Choji remained quiet.

"You didn't need to come, we had it under control," spit out Sakura.

Just then, Nagini got pulled under again. Only to be jolted awake by the sense of fierce chakra.

What? What's happening? Nagini shook her head around and gasped when she saw Sasuke standing, with black marks curving all around him.

"Sakura, who did this to you?" he asked, "Tell me!"

Just then, Nagini felt a piercing pain in her head and slumped, unconscious. 

"Nagini, wake up!"

Nagini woke to a frantic Naruto staring at her.

"Gah! Don't get so close!" screeched Nagini, backing up.

"You're back to normal!" yelled Naruto, "Guys! Nagini's up!"

Nagini stood up and looked around to see Sakura and Sasuke murmuring to each other.

What's the deal with them? wondered Nagini.

Suddenly, she began to feel faint and collapsed.

"Nagini collapsed!" Naruto and the others came running towards her.

Nagini's breathing turned heavy.

"Shikamaru, Naruto, hold her! I'll go see if I can go get something! Ino, come on!" Sakura ran back towards the place where we were resting.

The last thing Nagini heard was Naruto whispering that she would be fine before she fell into a deep slumber.
