Project Nagini

Part 8

"I hope I'm not too late!" cursed Nagini, as she quickly healed herself and went after the shouting.

What could Orochimaru want? thought Nagini, she gasped. That's right, he came to put the curse-mark on Sasuke!

She quickened her pace and soon caught up with them. Nagini gasped at the sight.

Naruto and Sasuke were yelling at each other, and Orochimaru was just relaxing on his pet, a snake. Orochimaru dived for Naruto.

"Naruto! Watch out!" yelled Nagini. She dived in front of Naruto and screamed as the snake's fangs tore at her side.

"Nagini!" said Naruto with wide eyes, "Why, why did you do that?"

"I-I don't know," mumbled Nagini, collapsing, Naruto dove to catch her, "My body. It just moved."

"Well, well, well. Isn't that nice," cackled Orochimaru, "The girly cares for the weakling. How touching." 

Nagini tried to stand up, but couldn't, she didn't have chakra left and was loosing blood, fast.

"Nagini, you know medical ninjutsu right? Heal yourself, we'll take care of this guy!" said Naruto.

"Aw, the disappointment wants to save his girlfriend, how nice," sneered Orochimaru.

Nagini barely stopped Naruto from diving towards Orochimaru.

"Stop! He's not worth it!" she said. 

She closed her eyes and frantically searched her head for a plan, but she couldn't think of anything. Orochimaru was just too strong for them. She healed herself, and tried to think of anything, anything at all, but couldn't.

For Nagini, time seemed to stop when she was thinking about a plan on how to stop enemies, so everything seemed to freeze. She looked over what she had learned about Sasuke and Naruto's fighting styles, Orochimaru's as well.

Nagini knew that she wasn't Orochimaru's little puppet anymore, she was her own master. She controlled herself. In her mind, she re-watched what she had seen of the battle, trying to find a loophole. She couldn't. As she wandered about in her mind, she snapped out od her fantasy when she heard Sasuke scream.

When her eyes flew open, it took her a few seconds to let her eyes settle. When here eyes settled, she saw Naruto being hurled through brandhes, eventually passing out, but she only heard his screams roaring in her ears.

It was like a monster took over, she saw herself change. Her nails grew longer, her eyes turned red, and her hair flew up. She felt intense chakra leaking out of her, like she was an open book.

She saw herself charge towards Orochimaru, trying, but failing, to strike him. She hissed at him, swiped at him with her claws, but they had no effect. It continued on like that until Orochimaru's snake tossed her through the branches.

The last thing she heard before she passed out, was Sasuke screaming and Sakura sobbing as Orochimaru gave Sasuke the Curse Mark.
