Noboru Kodo found himself walking down the road heading towards Castle, their local card shop and Buddyfight stage. As he walked the road, memories of him and one of his closest friends, Gao filled his head. Memories of their greatest fights, moments together, and then...the memory of him telling everyone in the stadium he was leaving for America. 'How ironic it is. That I moved to America and then back here, when I could be staying in America with him.' He thought as he reached the entrance of the mall where Castle resided.
"Guess I still miss him huh?" Noboru said to himself standing outside the entrance. "Hard to believe it's been two years since he left for America." He said and looked back down at the ground.
"Noboru!" His head shot back up to someone yelling his name and turned around. Behind him was a good friend of his and Gao's, Bolt who was floating up in the sky with his red wings. "Bolt, what are you doing here?" Noboru asked as the hundred demons played landed down behind him. "I could ask you the same thing." He said.
"Just heading into Castle. To buy some cards I guess." Noboru said, looking at his friend. 'Not that I really need them right now.' "Don't mean to pry but I heard you talking to yourself." Bolt said landing in front of the kitten shirt fighter. "You miss him, don't you?" The hundred demons fighter said. Noboru said nothing for a second. "Yeah I do." The dungeon world player replied sadly. "I know it's hard. After all I knew him just like you did."
"It's not like he's dead. He's just living in America." Noboru said. "Yeah I know. But it doesn't make it any less sad that he's not here to Buddyfight us." Bolt replied. "True that." Noboru just resumed looking at the ground, Bolt giving him a sympathetic look. "Well even without Gao around, we can still practice our Buddyfight skills. How bout it Noboru? You and I have a buddyfight to take your mind off it? I got some new cards I wanna try out." Bolt said encouragingly. Noboru's gaze returned to the lightning wielder. "Ok, let's go." So then Noboru and Bolt headed towards Castle.
Another buddyfighter found himself walking towards Castle, frantically checking his phone every 2 seconds. After checking it three times, he just sighed and put it back in his pocket. "He's not going to text me back, is he Deathgaze." He said, and a small star floated out of his right pocket turning into a small floating snake in front of him.
"How can you be sure he wants your help again Davide?" Gaze said looking at his fighter. "I have no idea Deathgaze, that's the problem." The buddyfighter slouched. This is Kyoya we're talking about after all. He's probably found some other lackey to take my place. After all its been 2 years." Deathgaze nodded and turned his head as a small explosion sound erupted in that direction of the stage below. Davide's gaze followed where his buddy was looking. He noticed the fighters down below. 'It's Gao's friends. Guess they decided to have a Buddyfight. I hope they don't run into me though.' He thought, crossing his arms and starting to walk away.
"Let's just go home Deathgaze. Nothing for us to do here." He said and started walking away. Gaze looked at him, glanced down at the stage, and then flew towards his buddy. "You sure you're not interested in who is fighting?" Gaze said floating in front of Davide's face. "Nah. Not worth it. Besides I'm sure that mighty sun fighter dork friend of theirs has told them plenty about who I am. That's enough for them to hate me or stay away." Davide answered and started walking away again. Deathgaze didn't move though and continued to stare forward. Davide noticed his buddy's intense staring contest and follower his gaze behind them. 'Oh great timing.' He said once he laid eyes on Bolt and Noboru walking in his direction.
'Hopefully they won't notice me.' Davide ducked behind a pillar near the railing, so he wouldn't be seen. As the two were chatting Deathgaze was watching them intently and then looked back at Davide. He couldn't help but laugh. "Oh be quiet you snake. And Get over here before they see you!" Davide shouted.
"Oh what's the harm, Davide?" Gaze asked, amused at his buddy's unfamiliar actions. "Zip it. I told you I didn't want to be seen by them. If they see you, they'll know I'm hiding from them!" Davide snapped. If Gaze could roll his eyes he would right now.
Bolt and Noboru ended up talking about their memories with Gao as they were walking. Luckily for Davide, they hadn't noticed Deathgaze in front of them. "Heh hey, remember all those times Gao called you kitten shirt?" Bolt laughed. "It's a tiger not a kitten! How'd you even know that?!" Noboru told him, angry at that dumb little nickname everyone loved to use. Especially Gao and Bal
"Gao told me." Bolt answered, still smiling. Noboru face palmed. "Of course he did."
Somehow even Davide thought that Noboru's outburst was funny and started chuckling himself behind his pillar. Deathgaze gave him an amused look and then looked up at the sky. "Davide." He said. "You need to get a sense of humor to Deathgaze." Davide said, still kind of laughing. "Davide." Gaze said, worry starting to appear in his voice. "I mean. Noboru being a kitten shirt's pretty obvious. I should have called him that to see his reaction when we fought Rouga that one time." Davide smiled. "Davide!" Gaze snapped. "What?!" Davide snapped back looking at his buddy who was still staring at the sky.
"What the heck are you looking...Holy!" Davide looked at where Gaze was looking to see a massive blue, purple, and black hole looking portal straight up in the sky. It looked like the sky was cracking open revealing a purple void behind it. Numerous strikes of black lightning appeared periodically around it. "What in this parallel world is that?!" He shouted. "Don't ask me." Gaze said, scared. "We gotta get out of here." Davide started running and then remembered Bolt and Noboru behind him. He looked back to see them facing away from the terror in the sky.
Two thoughts ran through his head. 'Should I warn them? Should I run away and hope they notice on their own.' His voice acted before his thoughts. "Ikazuchi! Noboru!" He shouted, alerting the two out of their conversation. "Davide why the heck are you here?" He asked, surprised and angry. "Haven't you noticed that thing?!" He shouted pointing up at the sky. Both looked and became shocked at what they saw. "What is that?" Bolt asked. "Whatever it is, it's definitely not safe to be around, we should run!" Davide shouted. "So this isn't you're doing?" Noboru asked him sternly. "No way! If this was my doing, do you think I'd go through the trouble of warning you blockheads!? Let's go!" The darkness dragon world player said as he moved to start running again.
Before they had a chance to leave however, a huge gust of wind started blowing around them making them shield their faces. In all the confusion, a monster's shadow appeared in front of them facing the black hole. Davide was the first to notice and his face paled. "Miserea!" He shouted. The monster was shocked, noticing the three of them. "Get out of here all of you!" The monster shouted.
"What are you going to do?!" Noboru shouted. "I'm going to stop it! I'll explain everything later, just go!" He shouted. Noboru took off running, Davide still stared at the monster. "Come on mister we need to evacuate let's move!" Bolt pulled Davide away and the three took off towards safety. Miserea watched them leave and then looked with a determined look on his face, towards his opposition.
"Lend me your strength guys." Miseria said and 3 cards appeared around him. He then put his hands together and shot a huge stream of blue energy at the black hole. After what seemed like 2 minutes, the black hole dispelled leaving a panting dungeon omni lord still there.
