When others line up to judge and jeer, to point out every flaw that had been exposed by your cruel circumstance, you always have that one person, you know is going to be standing by your side telling you that fuck everything, you have me. The person can not be your parents or partner. It's always going to be a friend; more specifically a best friend.
When you will be at your worst, when you don't know up from down, a best friend is the one, who will stay at your side, stoically proud of you no matter what you did. That person will praise your efforts and ignore your failures.
When the world becomes bullets, that person will become your shield, never once caring if you are wrong or right. Some people end up being very lucky to find the best friend in their partners. Others find it in form just a best friend, having the bond at its strongest.
Jungkook had few friends and so his loyalty to those who stuck with him was fierce. Some friends are for a reason, some are for a season and some are for life. And in Jungkook's case he knew his friendship with Jimin was for a lifetime or so he had thought for a long time.
When Jungkook talked to Jimin for the first time, they instantly hit it off. Although Jungkook had noticed that the other was not a people person he still tried to befriend him. He would always observe how Jimin would suddenly become quiet when any one else would try to join their conversation or how he would try to avoid Jungkook if he was with someone else.
After some days Jungkook could say he was successful in befriending the other boy as he was a lot more talkative around Jungkook than before. And at some point Jungkook started to believe that yes Jimin is one of the friends he is going to have for a long time in his life. He started to rely on the older more. He began to tell all his secrets to the older, discuss his worries he couldn't tell others and he was the first person to whom Jungkook told about his crush on the red haired boy.
Furthermore Jimin was the person he went for advice when he found out he was getting bullied. Unknown to him he was the person that was actually behind everything. How foolish he must have looked in front of Jimin's eyes.
And in the end even though he denied it wasn't because of Taehyung or whatsoever, the reason was actually nothing else than Taehyung.
‘So it was Jimin? One of your friends?’
‘Y-yeah,’ Jungkook stuttered.
‘This is actually unbelievable but at the same time it is kind of believable too,’ Namjoon spoke.
‘What do you mean?’ Jungkook raised a brow.
‘You know I told you your friends were pathetic for leaving you alone in that situation, but you were too good for your own to defend them. And now what? One of them was actually the culprit. No shit but I was actually right.’ Namjoon raised his hands, as a gesture saying I told you so.
‘How could I have known back then that the person I have been desperately finding was actually under my nose.’
‘But now you know and still are friends with him though.’
