"We do what!" I exclaimed, standing up from the bed in shock.
"We just pretend we're dating to get back at them! It's simple," he said calmly, shrugging his shoulders.
"I thought we were going to put whoopie cushions in their beds or something. I did not sign up to be your fake girlfriend, Ron," I shot, beginning to walk out the door.
He grabbed my arm. "Wait! Think about it," he said. "I mean, it's obvious now you like Cedric, and I like Hermione." His face was red again, and I'm pretty sure mine was as well. "When we saw them together, we realized how we felt. Maybe if they see us together..." he started gesturing as if I should be getting the point now. "Maybe they'll get jealous."
I considered his offer. It would be nice to make Cedric jealous after how he made me feel tonight.
But I don't know. It seemed like a bit of a stupid idea. "Has something like this ever worked?" I asked. "Like ever?"
Ron just rolled his eyes. "I don't know! But it's not going to work if we don't try," he argued.
"Okay," I said impulsively. What was I getting myself into? "But there have to be rules."
"Oh, yeah, sure. Rules," Ron said with a mouthful of chocolate frog.
"Number 1, we are only doing this around other people. When we're alone, we stop."
He made a disgusted face. "Well, obviously. No offense y/n, but Hufflepuff's aren't exactly my type. You guys are too nice."
I punched him in the shoulder. "Ow," he whimpered, rubbing his arm. "That too nice for ya?" I asked.
"Point taken," he grumbled, popping another chocolate frog into his mouth.
"Number 2, if at any time I don't want to do this anymore, we stop. We 'fake break up' or whatever you want to call it." I said.
"Yeah, alright, fine," he replied.
"And number 3," I continued, "We tell no one about this. And I mean no one."
"Duh again! Honestly y/n, you're stating the obvious here."
I rolled my eyes at him. "You can't even tell Harry, alright?"
"Okay! I won't. But he might be suspicious. He knows we want them broken up."
"Fine, he can know. But only him!" I scolded.
"He's gonna bloody hate me when I tell him," Ron commented, shaking his head. "But it's so worth it."
I cast off his other comments. "So, deal?" I asked, extending out my hand to shake. Ron wiped his sweaty and chocolatey palms on his pants before taking my hand in his own. "Deal."
"Okay, what should we do first?" I asked, sitting back down on his bed.
"First rule of business," Ron started, turning to face me. "We get the word out."
"And how do we do that?" I asked.
"We don't. Well, not directly. We gotta make people talk," he stated, rubbing his chin with his hand. Then, his gaze fell on me on his bed, and he smiled.
"What?"
He smirked and ran over to open the door. He poked his head out and looked both ways before shutting it again.
"You stay here tonight."
I immediately sprung up from the bed. "What?" I exclaimed.
"Think about it! It's perfect. When you leave in the morning with everyone around, it'll get everyone talking," he stated calmly.
