"You ready?" Ron asked while facing the wall.
"Just about," I answered, pulling the dress up and around my shoulders. I flattened it out and turned to face Ron. "How do I look?"
Ron turned around and his eyes lit up. "Wow, y/n, you look stunning," he remarked, his eyes following my body up and down.
I blushed at the direct compliment. "Hey, you look great too," I said, gesturing to his nice button up shirt and trousers.
"I know," he answered, puffing out his chest.
I rolled my eyes at his cockiness and leaned over the vanity to touch up my makeup in the mirror. Ron came up behind me and stood next to me to look in the mirror.
"Hey, we look good together," he said casually. I took a good look at the both of us. "Would you look at that. We do," I replied.

"Wow, you both look great." Cedric remarked as Ron and I sat across from him and Hermione at the Three Broomsticks.
"We know," Ron said at the same time I said, "So do you guys!"
"So, what's everyone thinking of getting," Cedric said while opening up his menu and squinting at the tiny font.
"I'm not sure yet," Hermione answered while squinting at her own menu. "Everything looks so good."
I couldn't help but laugh at the random small talk they were attempting at making. The whole thing was just so awkward.
Ron clearly had noticed the same thing, because I looked over to see him stifling a laugh as well.
"Is something funny?" Hermione asked defensively.
"Oh no," I answered immediately. "Ron and I were just thinking about our detention today, that's all."
Hermione raised an eyebrow at the both of us. "Detention was... funny?"
"It was hilarious," Ron responded. "Well, so was the scene that earned us detention."
"Yeah, wow. I'd say you guys win the award for most awkward tardy to class ever," Cedric commented.
A silence fell over the four of us as we all began thinking about class's excitement today. If I wasn't involved, I'm sure it would've been quite a treat.
"It was so embarrassing," I confessed. "I was mortified standing there."
"Yeah, and that shirt bit didn't help," Cedric snorted. Hermione shot him a disapproving look while I blushed.
"I thought it was quite fun. I wasn't humiliated at all," Ron said, reaching across the table to grab a piece of bread.
I didn't believe that for one second. "Really?" I scoffed, turning to look at him. "You weren't phased by that at all?"
"Nope," he said, his mouth now full.
"So tonight, just when you go to bed, you're not going to stay awake thinking about how everyone was looking at you and judging you?" I asked.
Ron made a concerned face. "No... is that what you do when embarrassing things happen to you?"
"Well yeah! Every night when I try to sleep, every slightly embarrassing thing I've ever done creeps into my head and makes me wish I'd never been born," I said, reaching to grab a roll for myself now.
"Really? That sounds bloody miserable," Ron commented.
I looked up to see Cedric and Hermione laughing with one another.
"What?" I asked, curious if Ron and I had missed something during our conversation.
"You guys are just too much," Hermione laughed. "You sound like you're made for each other."
We both blushed and turned to look at each other. Ron smiled awkwardly before grabbing another piece of bread. That wasn't even us trying to seem like we were together.
Damn. We were good.
"I'm gonna go freshen up in the bathroom," Hermione remarked, standing up from the table.
"Me too," Cedric said, following her out the main area of the restaurant.
Ron turned to face me. "See? This isn't that bad."
"Yeah, you were right. Although I'm worried we don't have much else to talk about."
Ron grabbed yet another piece of bread from the center of the table. "We can talk about how good this bread is," he said with his mouthful once again. "Because bloody hell, it's delicious."
I rolled my eyes at his impoliteness and reached over to grab another roll for myself. They were quite good.
Hermione and Cedric returned to the table, and before they could sit down, Ron yelled out, "You guys have got to try some of this bread!"
The two of them laughed and tried some for themselves.
"Wow, this is good," Hermione said and Cedric nodded to agree.
Cedric turned to look at Hermione, who had a crumb stuck to the side of her mouth.
"Oh, Hermione, you have something," Cedric said while reaching up to push the crumb off her lip. "There you go," he said, delicately brushing it away.
Hermione's face turned red. "Thanks," she said.
Ron gave me the side eye and raised an eyebrow. He was clearly not okay with that.
Suddenly, I felt Ron's leg kick mine from under the table. I pretended not to notice, but he kicked me again, harder this time. "Ow," I whispered, leaning down to rub my shin.
I looked at Ron who was making eyes at my butterbeer sitting on the table. I didn't quite get what he was hinting at.
He pointed to the side of his mouth and then pretended to rub something off. Thankfully, Hermione and Cedric were having their own conversation while Ron and I played charades.
I reached out and took a sip of my butterbeer, hoping I had understood what Ron was getting at. When I finished, I looked at him, who smiled when he saw the foam on the corner of my mouth.
"Here, let me get that," he remarked, reaching his hand up to the side of my mouth. He gently caressed my lip to wipe away the foam.
Cedric and Hermione didn't even notice. Ron rolled his eyes.

After the date, Ron and I arrived back at his room.
"How'd it go?" Harry asked, sitting up in his bed once we walked in.
"Fine," Ron answered, closing the door behind him. "I think we definitely made some good progress."
Harry scoffed at Ron's comment and laid back down.
"Well, I better get back to my room to go to bed. I'm exhausted," I said, turning around to face the door. "Good night."
"Night, y/n," Ron said. "And hey," I turned back around to listen. "Don't think too much about the scene in class today," he said with a wink. I smiled and walked out the door.
