"There, you should be good to go!" Madame Pomfrey exclaimed around noon the next day, gesturing to Ron's now cast-less leg.
"It feels weird," he remarked, flipping his legs to the side of the bed to try and walk.
"It'll take a bit of getting used to," she replied, standing up from her chair. "Have a nice rest of the day, you two!" she waved, turning to go back into her office.
Ron continued to pace around the hospital wing, testing out his regained ability. "Look!" he cried as he jumped up and down a few times.
"Impressive," I replied. "Feel normal yet?"
"Almost," he said, running around the room now.
I rolled my eyes and laughed at his antics. "Ron?" came Madame Pomfrey's voice from inside her office. "You can leave now."
The two of us suppressed laughter as we walked out of the room together.
"Hey, look at that, you can keep up with me now!" I observed.
"Hooray," Ron said unenthusiastically. "And now I can beat Malfoy's ass," he said through gritted teeth, throwing some air punches to add dramatic effect.
Just as the last word rolled off Ron's tongue, Draco rounded the corner, coming face to face with us.
"You made up? Already?" Draco shot, raising an eyebrow in disbelief.
"Yeah. You got a problem with that, Malfoy?" Ron retorted, stepping towards Draco threateningly. His new use of his legs came with a new surge of confidence, apparently.
"Just funny. If it were my girlfriend going around kissing other guys, I wouldn't forgive her so fast," Draco scoffed, folding his arms.
"Keep your big head out of our relationship," Ron snarled, clenching his fist.
"I barely needed to get involved for it to fall apart," Draco shot back.
"Stop it, both of you," I cut in. "Ron, let's go," I said, grabbing Ron's arm and dragging him away before he said anything else.
"'Barely needed to get involved' my ass," Ron hissed as the two of us walked away from Draco.
"Ron, relax. We can't really accuse him of anything until we have proof," I reminded him. I couldn't get my mind off of the scene we witnessed yesterday with Draco's parents. Something told me there was more to the story than Draco just wanting to mess with our relationship.
"I know, I know," Ron replied, sighing.
"Besides, we've got more important things to focus on," I hinted.
"Like what?" he asked.
Instead of responding, I grabbed his hand and dragged him down the hall and back to his room, closing the door behind us.
"We have to take pictures for your mom!" I cried, holding up the paper bag with our pajamas we'd purchased yesterday.
"No," he said, backing away from me.
"She'll be so disappointed," I said convincingly, pulling the soft item out of the bag and holding it up. "Come on, you just have to wear it for five seconds while I snap a photo."
Ron groaned and threw his head back like this was the most unfair thing he'd ever had to do in his life. "Fine," he muttered, snatching it from my grasp aggressively. "Five seconds."
"Five seconds," I repeated as he unwillingly changed into the onesie.
"Smile!" I exclaimed, holding up my camera as he stood in front of me in his new pajamas. "Aw, you look so cute," I gushed.
