The Present, 2017

What am I even doing here?

I look around the crowded street, Hongdae has always been a lively place, you would think that since it's a Monday night that people would actually head home since work resumes tomorrow. But then again, there's a university near here, so most patrons are indeed students, I bit my lip worriedly as I see no sign of Minho.

Maybe he can't make it.

I take my eye off the moving people on the busy street as I sip on my hot chocolate, with my phone in hand I continue to check my endless emails. I sigh loudly at the large number of unanswered mails which I don't think I'll be able to get through by the end of the week

"Hey."

I look up to see a smiling Minho sitting before me, I squint my eyes as I look at his appearance even more closely.

"Can you even see my face?" he lifts the hat a bit to reveal his swollen, red eyes, "are you okay?"

He nod his head at my question, "just a hectic schedule, between show appearances and being in the studio, I hardly have the time to rest."

Without giving it much thought, I reach out and take his hand in mine, "are you sure you don't want to just go home? I can drive you."

He rubs his thumb across my hand, "you're really soft everywhere."

I roll my eyes at him then playfully pull my hand away, "I can't handle this much cheesiness Minho-ssi."

He frowns at me, "call me oppa," I make a face at him, "or not, you don't use honorifics when I'm f**king you from behind though."

I shake my head at him, "Minho-ah," he smiles brightly at me, "that's all you're going to get."

He chuckles then leans back in the chair, "I really missed you, and I don't want you to think it's because the s*x is great that I keep on coming back," I raise my eyebrows at him, "seriously, the s*x is great, the best I've ever had to be honest," I giggle softly, "but it's when you laugh, flash your smile or even look at me that I realize how deep I fell for you that night in Singapore."

I blink at him, "this is all a bit..."

He leans forward, "... burdensome?" I nod my head at him, "don't worry you'll get used to it," he stands to his feet then outstretches his hand, "let's go."

I get off the chair as I join my hands with his, we silently leave the café to join the crowds of people on the street, I smile to myself as he tightly intertwines our fingers together. I let him drag me to different stores around Hongdae, and to be honest I thought that tonight would be one of those nights where I find myself being bored at whatever I'm doing.

But I realized that I'm actually enjoying every minute with him. We stopped at almost every vendor to pick up trinkets, and I listened to whatever he has to say.

He spoke about his love for music and his cat Jhonny, he also expressed what it was like working in the underground scene to debuting as an idol, he also shared with me the hardships that he faced then and those that he's still facing today. I'm beginning to see him for who he really is, he's not just some disrespectful, misogynistic rapper.

He's much more than that and I suddenly found myself wishing that no harm will come to him. Song Minho is absolutely perfect in my eyes.

I smile up at him as he eats his cotton candy happily, "don't you have a mask or something? I think people are beginning to notice you."

He hands the floss of sugar to me then reaches into his pocket and pulls a black mask out, he places the soft material on my face and I look at him in surprise.
