A pounding ache spread in waves all across Lysandra's head. The overthinking had taken a toll on her and accompanied by the lack of sleep, she was positive she would go insane. Not feeling home in the cold castle was not too encouraging either. Her only anchor and motivation to be her own self instead of being burdened with duties and being a part of royalty was Laurent Cirillo.

He was a charmer and she couldn't deny the fact that he had captured her attention very effectively, especially after that confession he had made before leaving. She felt like an asshole for avoiding him after he laid his heart bare to her because she knew it could not have been an easy task. Guilt was clawing her insides and with so many thoughts and worries clouding her emotions and judgement, she just wanted to run away.

The clock struck six and without a thought, she grabbed her phone and opened her contacts. Even her phone seemed strange because she had not used the device in quite a long time. Laurent had once grabbed her phone in one of their fights and captured a couple of photographs of them, much to Lysandra's dismay. In one of them, he had an arm draped around her as she pouted and in the next, he quickly pecked her cheek as her eyes widened and he smiled, his dimples on show. She remembered she'd slapped him immediately after that, leaving him chuckling and teasing her further. But now, that very memory, which had been set as a contact photo brought tears into her eyes.

She opened her gallery to find some more solo pictures of herself which the raven-haired heartthrob had clicked without her knowledge. She always expressed how she didn't want his company and yet, he stuck with her, bearing all of her tantrums. He was there to catch her when she fell even though he knew her only for a couple of months and all along, she had failed to acknowledge that. She paused, staring at a photo of herself. She was biting her lip and frowning slightly as she tied tapes to her knuckles, her hair scooped up atop her head messily.

That was perhaps the only solo picture of herself she liked and she couldn't contain her feelings towards a certain moss-eyed earthen anymore. It was becoming too much, holding every single thing in. It was high time she admitted something. Laurent Cirillo had wormed his way into her heart without her even noticing his efforts. She was in too deep, bottling up her own shit while for some reason, he was determined to figure her out. He was the only one to get past her walls and stay every time she pushed him away, bearing every single one of her antics and soothing her with his unselfish adoration.

She needed him. After a long while, she craved someone's company and though almost nothing in her life was under her control, she was determined to go to him and tell him how much he meant to her despite her being very standoffish to him. She smiled and sighed as she scrolled through her contacts to stop at Laurent's name which was saved as Cirillo followed by a thunderstorm icon. Her lips split up into a grin. He truly had taken her life through her storm and showed her what was worth holding on to.

The caller tune came to a pause as a husky voice filtered in through the device. "Took you long enough, Lysa," Laurent drawled and Lysandra was sure he had a smug smirk plastered onto his dreamy face.
