Deku grabbed his satchel to put his book and pens in, and headed out of his dorm to-
"The fuck are you going, Deku?" Bakugo stood in the latter's way. He can be overprotective most if not ALL the time, so this wasn't all that new. "Remember what you said, dumbass. You better not be exploring again."
"Just the library, Kacchan, I promise. I'm looking for a book to find out more about Prism Gouls, they sound really cool!"
"Fine. if you don't come back in 45 minutes I'll kick your ass." he scoffed, and walked back to his dorm. Deku sighed, and continued walking. While he really did appreciate how much his friend cared, it was still weird. I should go ahead and mark the page first... he thought, and Started to write on the top; P-R-I-S-M G-H-O-U--
"Look out!" he heard a voice call, but before he could react-
BAM! he fell over, and blacked out.
~
As Midoriya tried to regain consciousness, he could hear two people talking near him;
"Sero dude, what did you do?!"
"I-I didn't mean to! I tried to warn him!"
"Yeah, i get that! But now look at him; he's out cold!"
"I know' I know, I messed up!"
"W-What...happened..?" he managed to say. Looking around, Deku could see that he was propped up against the wall, with two new-and very worried monsters in front of him; a mummy and a frankenstein. Both of which looked guilty and concerned. "Did I pass out..?"
"Oh thank god you're awake."the mummy said. "We thought you were dead there for a second." the frankenstien joked. While it wasn't at all that funny, the remark make Izuku smile a little. the latter helped Deku stand up before introducing himself. "I'm Denki Kaminari. Sorry for my buddy Sero, he uses his bandages to 'fly' WAY too much." The mummy nodded. "Hanta Sero. We got off on the wrong foot, sorry about that. You holdin up okay?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm good. I'm Izuku Midoriya by the way." He did have a small headache, but it was slowly going away.
The two boys apologized again, and went their separate ways as Deku finally reached the library. And he definitely should've gone straight to the nurse, but he really wanted to learn more about the Gem Devils.
Scanning the shelves, a book titled "Crystal Beasts History" caught his eye. 'I mean they sound like the same thing...' Midoriya grabbed the book and headed to a desk to start writing. It's not every day that you get to read a book about an entirely new species. Oh, wait-
'I told Kacchan I'd be back in 45 minutes...but how long was I even passed out for...? It had to have been longer than that...'
He looked up to the wall and checked the clock; 10:30. It wouldn't take long for him to write at least the species names on the first page. Maybe a few more minutes would be fine...
~
There was a lot more to the Ghouls than Deku thought. It's a lot of complex info, but he definitely had enough about them to write an entry now. And it was getting pretty late, so he decided to take the book with him and headed for the door. Taking his first step into the hall, he decided to check said hallways for anybody who might bump into him again. To his right; nobody. Now to the left; also nothing. He let out a sigh of relief, and started to walk out.
'la da da da la-da' a faint humming could be heard in the back of the library. It was obviously a girl's voice, but a new one. He was sure that nobody was in there, how'd he not hear them come in? Checking the clock, Izuku saw the numbers 11:01. He still had some time to check it out.
Slowly walking to the back of the room, the humming got louder, but what sounded like an ocarina could be heard now as well. It was really pretty. As the music got to it's loudest, Deku rounded the corner to see...
The girls making music. They didn't look all that weird either. One was a monster with musical instruments jabbed into her body wirth purple splotches around them. And the girl singing was a Noppera-bo. Wait-
"W-WHAT?!" the freckled boy yelled, a bit louder than he should've. It was enough to make the girls jump and face him with concerned and puzzled expressions. If at all possible for the expressionless ghost. The Noppera-bo flew over, and hovered in front of the frightened boy asking; "What's wrong, are you alright?"
"Y-You...y-you're..." he shivered. As if she wasn't aware of the nightmare fuel that the spirit's friend was, a well as herself. Though he still tried his best to not be offensive.
The latter girl obviously got fed up of his stupidity quite early. "Buzz off." she called, and stomped out. Trying his best to calm down, the faceless girl nervously laughed. "Don't worry about her. She's jus really shy, hehe. Her name's Jiro, and I'm Hagakure! What's your name?"
"O-Oh, I'm Midoriya. I-This may be a weird question but, how can you breathe, or even see??"
"Honestly; I really don't know. Hey, you're pretty new here, right? Want me to show you around?"
"Ah,sure!"
Toru and Izuku headed out of the library, he checked the clock one last time; 11:09. He still had some time. As long as the 'tour' wasn't too lengthy.
