I was so shocked I froze. When I processed what he said I got up and walked over to my fruit and continued to cut.
Hoping he doesn't say anything I grab a bowl ignoring his stares and proceed to make my snack.
"I- I just wanted to tell you because I need it off my chest I have felt like this for so long, this doesn't mean I'm telling you to leave Brandon or anything I was-" "can you just please stop and look at me please?" He says slapping his hand on the counter making me jump.
He's never raised his voice to me so for him to do that it caught me by surprise I didn't know what else to do but grab my plate and walk to me room.
"Aria I- Wha- I didn't mean to sca-" he couldn't finish his sentence as I shut the door in his face.
But I wasn't quick enough to lock the door as he opened it and stepped in
"Joel please just get out"
"No i need to explain myself I know I shouldn't have yelled at you I didn't mean that"
"I just needed you to-" he added but I interrupted
"What? You want me to drop my relationship and be with you? You have to understand Joel that I his is very shocking news to me" I say getting pissed
"So you don't feel the same?"
"Joel I have a boyfriend I'm about to have a child with him I love him" I say as my heart races. I've never thought of Joel in that way
"I know this is bad timing but it's just been eating at me for so long"
"Ya think?" I say pacing back and forth starting to feel light headed
He tries to walk toward me but i back up not wanting to be near him as in the moment I'm scared of him.
"I think I- ow.... I just need- agh" I say holding my belly.
"Aria... what's hurting" he says coming closer
"No im okay I just need to lay dow-" I say but then the worst thing happens....
"Did did your?"
"My water broke" I say with panicking eyes.
"Oh god okay Um..... let's go" he says trying to guide me but I can't walk. He sees this and carries me bridal style.
"WAIT WAIT there's a bag right there it's our emergency bag and grab my phone I need to call b" I say through painful screams.
He grabs it quickly and runs to the door. As I'm in the passenger seat I dial Brandon's phone
"Hey baby"
"B- AH um I'm heading to the hospital my water broke"
I hear the wind as he's running "fuck okay I'll go get you right now"
"No no it's okay Joel was home he's taking me now just meet me there please? Can you drive? Have you been drinking?"
"No i was just playing cards..... GUYS we gotta go now Ri's in labor COME ON" he yells through the phone
"Okay ima go now we're almost there"
"I'm on my way love don't worry I love you so much I'm so happy right now" he says and I say I love you back and hanging up calming my breathing.
"Your gonna be an uncle" I say to Joel and he smiles concentrating on the road.
