Chapter 13 - A Father

Heyo, it's been awhile, for all the people reading this story sorry!! It's been a crazy few months as everyone knows and school and stuff and umm yeah.....but if you are still reading this story I'm going to try my best. I'll still update only about once or twice a month but yeah. Anyway here you go: the long overdue chapter.

It was already getting dark as the two wizards came slowly walking home. The two of them trudged slowly through the empty streets as they felt their bodies be extremely sore from what Crime Sorcière had done just a day earlier. With Wendy being even more sick having to sick on the train back to Magnolia

They hoped it was worth it though. After all they went through crazy amounts of pain despite seemingly being the same as before

"Hey Y/n...we should go to the market so we can get more ingredients. We were running out of food at our house"

"Sure...let's go!" Y/n said and the two of them slowly turned to go to the stores.

While they were walking Y/n glanced to her left and saw a house that seemed familiar

"Hey that's Lucy's old apartment" Y/n pointed out

"Yeah it is...but umm who's that man over there?" They saw a man with longer hair and a beard

"Well I dunno, anyway let's go" Y/n said and they walked past the older man

"Excuse me?" He said shocking the two wizards as they turned around

"Yes?" The two of them answered

"I was wondering...if you two were friends of Lucy Heartfilia..." The two of them were shocked by the name of their old friend

"How did you-"

"Is she doing well?" He asked to which the two of them frowned

"Umm..well you see.." Y/n began but Wendy cut her off

"She's gone.." His face went grim for a second but he nodded

"I already know..."

"Oh! You're Lucy's dad aren't you?" Y/n asked and he nodded

"That is right, I am Jude Heartfilia. I came by to drop off some presents. It is her birthday after all." He simply stated

"Lucy-san's birthday?" Wendy gasped, he only nodded in response

"I heard everything that happened. It's been four years since then..."

"Why are you giving presents to her apartment? I mean...after all that's happened." Wendy kept her words vague, to not push the subject too much

"Well as her father I have to give something on her special day...even if it seems pretty weird to do so since she's not here to open any of them...but as her father I want to believe that she is alive. I know her, she wouldn't give up on anything. After all...she has the same will and spirit of her mother" He looked solemnly at the sky

"I'm sure...I'm sure Lucy would be happy to see it when she comes back" Y/n said as Jude smiled at her

"Thank you...I'll be going now. Take care" The two girls bowed as he turned and slowly walked away

"Do you really believe they'll come back?" Wendy asked her friend

"I can't say anything for sure but... I want to believe everyone will come back to Fairy Tail. Even if the chances are slim...I have to hold out hope that we will see them all at least one more time." Y/n softly replied "Plus..something about this whole thing is strange...Ever since that day...it feels like my magic power is constantly draining..." Y/n whispered to herself and Wendy heard but decided not to say anything
