He glared at the rat(?) across the table, completely ignoring the other hero's in the room. He wasn't entirely sure why he was called here but he had an idea and he was damned if his secret was leaked because of this genius rat, bear, dog thing. He could hear the hero's shifting uncomfortably in the corners of the room, he knew they were there. For pros they were really bad at being stealthy, though he supposed that made sense. They were always more focused on fame and money, well except two of them but they were currently busy and not in the room.
What was happening again? Oh, right, glaring at the principal."I swear to Nezu if you dare reveal anything Nezu, It will not be pretty. We both know I'm smarter than I show, and we both know what would happen if you say anything. I don't think you want that, do you?" During that whole thing Nezu had started smirking, probably from the part in the beginning where I used his name in place of Kami, what can I say Nezu was better. Except of course when he was basically holding your entire lives work in the palm of his hands.
Nezu stared at me for a minute, "How about a game of chess, if I win I can do what I want and you are not allowed to stop me, if you win I will not tell a soul and your secret will be safe with me," He grinned wickedly, he just knew that was a deal I couldn't refuse. Not only was there the possibility that my work was safe but I got to play the rat god at chess.
"If I win, you tell no one. You also refrain from recording, writing down, typing, or printing, (or any other way to save data) any of it I will risk nothing with this secret, I'm sure you can understand why." I returned his wicked grin. I think we were scaring some of the hero's in the room with the way we were talking, not only did they not know what we were talking about, but they are also witnessing two geniuses pitted against each other and that's usually terrifying in the first place.
"Deal." Nezu stopped smiling as he pulled a chess board and pieces out of a draw, moving some papers over on his desk before setting it down. I stopped smiling as well, slowly turning my attention to the game, careful not to get distracted. I couldn't afford to lose.
( An hour and a half later.)
The game had been going smooth so far, both of us were starting to dip low on pieces, I had my king, queen, both knights, one rook and a pawn. Nezu had his king, both bishops, a knight, and three pawns. We seemed to be pretty evenly matched for a while, that was until I was able to maneuver my pawn all the way across the board, parallel to his king. (The only direction I had not blocked off yet) And replace my pawn with the second rook, effectively winning the game.
"Checkmate."
When I said that, heads whipped in my direction. It was obvious that the hero's had not been expecting that. Nezu just looked like he was contemplating something. Eventually Present Mic spoke up."Did the little listener just checkmate Nezu? I'm not going insane right?"
"If you are I am as well." Ectoplasm chimed in.
"Midoriya." Nezu piped up, "What is your IQ?"
That was a new question, honestly hadn't been expecting that. "Last time I checked it was around 350 but that was like 7 years ago. Why do you ask?" I responded, tilting my head to the side at the end.
"No reason." I was still skeptical, but decided that I didn't really want to know what Nezu was planning.
"Say, little listener. What's your quirk?" I stiffened at this, I had figured it was common knowledge but I had only been a student at UA for a few months in the general education course so I couldn't expect them to actually pay attention to me.
"I'm quirkless." I responded, still looking at Nezu. I didn't want to see their pity or disgust, I either didn't need it or I didn't want it. I could tell Nezu probably understood what I was thinking, and I was very glad that he didn't look at me with pity.
"Midoriya." Nezu piped up again, drawing all attention back to him. "I have a proposition for you." It was kinda surprising when he slipped into Greek halfway through the sentence. But I understood him all the same and replied in the same language.
"What is it? You already promised to keep my secret."
"I would like you to become my personal student, and maybe take over the world every once in a while as well when we get bored." He had switched languages halfway through again and was now speaking Italian but again, that was no problem.
"Sure, why not. What's with all the switching of languages though? I'm pretty sure we are scaring the pros." I had taken the liberty of switching the language this time going from Italian to Portuguese.
"It's fun, besides someone has to keep them on their toes. See you tomorrow at 7am Midoriya, for the first lesson." This was gonna be fun, I was kinda surprised how this had all started because Nezu had figured out my secret, or at least part of it. I decided not to mention that though.
"See you tomorrow." I said, slipping back into Japanese for the poor hero's in the back. It was at this point I decided it would be smart to take my leave, so I grabbed my bag and stood up walking to the door, before I left though I added one more thing. "World domination does sound rather tempting, but we got to give the poor humans a chance, it's more fun to watch them run around in confusion." With that I slipped out the door, hearing Nezu's crazy laughter in the background.
From there, I left UA, making my way home. I wonder what my brothers were up to right now, probably getting in trouble again.
