The glow of orange and yellow filled the warming skies, looking up to feel that you were a mere figure inside a majestic painting.

Ahrin has her arms folded on the railings of her veranda, leaning in while watching the sun fade down like every other day.

Looking at the end of the day, she felt someone hugging her, whispering that even light can cover the darkness.

And that's how she lived with both hope and faith.

Even the darkest nights have a moon to light up, she says.

Currently, it's approaching nighttime. With the first star twinkling on a dark spot, Ahrin smiled and closed her eyes.

I wish for..

"Are you seriously wishing for a dead celestial right now?"

And of course, there's always a demon to pull you down, right?

Ahrin let out a sharp exhale and turned to her heel, glaring at the towering male.

"Are you angry now?"

"Whatever" she breathed out and faced the sky again, now seeing a series of little sparkles coming out.

"Nice, you ruined my first star moment."

"I didn't know you're really doing that. Besides, you already have someone to really grant your wishes."

Ahrin sighed, "You know what? I'm going down for a walk." She then pushed the demon away and stomped back inside her room.

She stepped out wearing a long jacket and her fashion glasses, kicking pebbles along the way.

By now, the clouds had suddenly grumbled, making the girl exasperatedly sighed.

"Hey, loner"

"Wassup orphan"

She immediately halted her tracks and looked up, seeing two of the neighborhood jerks who are known to be her potential bullies since she was left alone.

Ahrin rolled her eyes and was about to turn back when one of them threw a small stone at her, landing on the back of her head. She winced.

"Oh, what will you do now, cry?" they then burst laughing.

"Shut up." It came out as a whisper.

"Hey little Ahrin, how's your birthday?" the one named Jaemin asked.

"Bet blowing her cake alone," Jeno said, and they laughed again.

Ahrin picked up a rock and was about to throw it at them when she felt a force gripping her wrist, restricting the action.

"Hold it, Ahrin, they're not worth it." His deep voice dropped octaves lower, and the girl froze on her spot.

"Hahahaha, oh, who's that now, Rinnie? Already have a boyfriend?" Jaemin mockingly cooed with his usual menacing smile.

"He-"

"I am, so what?" Jisung cuts in

Ahrin's eyes widened.

"Oh, little Ahrin is a big girl now? Hey, you boy, why her? She's no good." Jeno said.

"Probably he's lonely too, you know."

"Shut up." It came out as a low growl, and Ahrin swore that she felt the most intense goosebumps she ever had.

Jaemin and Jeno stopped laughing, looked at each other, and went back to the demon.

Jisung's wings are hidden from their eyes, except for Ahrin.

He looked at them, and his lips curled up in a menacing grin.

Not long after the two bodies dropped, they fainted.

"Wh-Jisung!" Ahrin exclaimed

"What?" he said, deadpanned, looking down at her.

"They.." She can't formulate enough words, but she is just pointing at them.

"Kids", he tuts, They'll wake up when we'll leave." he casually said and turned back, walking away.

"But...but..." she looked at the two boys again, pouted, and eventually followed behind.
