"Who are you?"

The man looked up with a small smile engraved on his lips. The deep voice and the dark aura radiating from the demon surely crept him out.

"I see. You're the one being summoned."

Jisung lightly scoffed and flickered his gaze at the girl, silently sitting on a swing where he asked her to wait.

"You should stop it, boy, before the worst things happen." the man grunted as he stretched his arms.

"Stop it before you'll end up doing something you regret."

Jisung's eyes flashed red, and he crouched in front of him, staring directly into his eyes.

"Tell me everything I need to know."

The man chuckled, blew out the unlit candle, and crazily laughed.

"A life is taken in the last blow." he whispered.

That made the demon stiffen.

She'll die when the candle melts down.

"The summoning candle is what binds Jungwoo Hyung and his human. Could the consequence possibly be the same?"

Jeno's voice echoed in his head.

"There's a consequence to every wish. Everything will happen just like she wanted, but a prize of life will be taken away from the one who summoned."

"Just tell me!"

"She'll die, and you will be the one who kills her."

"W-what?" his body trembled.

"So stop whatever feelings are growing inside you, so you won't be bothered to do it when her time ends."

"No, there should be a way to keep her alive!" he growled, holding his collar.

The man just laughed.

"She's wishing for her life to end.. that lonely night where she stumbled on my spot and bought a candle saying it's her birthday... so I just made her wish come true."

"Fuck it!" He harshly pushed him away and stood up, breathing heavily.

"You know, boy, a human and a demon shouldn't meet and love in the first place anyway, but only your kind can take her soul away as she wishes."

"No, she wants to live."

"Wings cut off and banish, do you want that?"

Jisung glared at him.

"Your soul won't reside back in hell and especially not in the heavens. You will continue to roam around everywhere you want like a poor lost soul. So don't waste your time loving someone who will die anyways." The man cleared his throat and stood up.

Jisung clenched his fists and showed up in the man's way.

"You're a lost soul yourself, taking a human body, living off humans' dark wishes. You're the starting point and surely the end, so tell me. What can I do to at least keep her with me?"

The man tensed up in a sudden pain in his chest.

Looking down, he saw a sharp wooden thing digging into his skin.

His gaze then shifted to a demon whose eyes are a deep shade of red, screaming death. His body shakes in fear.

Jisung grinned.

"Are you sure everything's okay?" Ahrin asked for the nth time.

Jisung chuckled and ruffled her hair, then gently pushed her inside the house.

"Mhm, so you should rest."

The girl sighed and held his wrist. "Can't you at least stay for a longer time?"

"Aawweee, do you like me that much?"

She hissed and smacked his arm.

"Whatever goes away"

"Wish" he abruptly stopped and shook his head. Nah, "I'll stay."

"Right, you can't go if I don't wish."

"Ahrin, stop!"

The girl turned back to him with a raised brow.

"I said I'll stay."

Don't use the candle anymore, Ahrin-ah.
