You observed yourself in the mirror. Your face covered in a mask, your hood up and your eyes covered in bold and dark makeup. The outfit hugged you well, not showing off too much skin while covering the most important bits. You heard Mia squeal behind you. "You look gorgeous!" The silver haired woman jumped up and down. "Doesn't she Tsu-chan?" She cooed to her little puppy who was dressed up in a dragon costume, the furball letting out a small woof at you."You look amazing too Mia!" You smiled.
You both had decided to wear more or less matching costumes for Pops' Halloween party. She was dressed as Kitana while you were dressed as Jade (both characters are from Mortal Kombat).
"Thank you!" She giggled. "We better get going if we wanna get there on time!"
"It's a party," you rolled your eyes. "We don't have to be on time."
Mia took your hand and dragged you down the stairs before you could say anything else. "We wouldn't wanna make Marco and the others wait though!"
Marco was driving you and Mia together since it seemed convenient enough, after all, it was a good 30 minute drive. Needless to say it was the latter that asked Marco to do so.
You didn't mind the fact Marco was driving because well, you just can't stay mad at Marco.
Plus I really was a little girl back then.
You internally rolled your eyes at the memory.
"(F/n)! Mia!" The moment you stepped out of your house, you saw Ace waving at you from beside Marco's car. The freckled troll had a yellow unbuttoned shirt under his jacket with a cowboy hat on his head.
The hell are you dressed up as? And boy close your jacket, you're gonna freeze!
"Ooooh cowboy stripper?" Mia cooed.
Ace pouted. "No I'm-- I.... I'm a regular cowboy." He said zipping up his jacket.
"No you aren't." You jumped a bit when you heard Marco's voice behind you. "He was too lazy to get an actual costume so he put a bunch of outfits together and claimed he's a cowboy, yoi."
You turned around to see Marco with his normal black coat. You wondered what kind of costume he's hiding beneath the coat.
Mia started to snort as she dragged Ace into the backseat, Tsuki barking excitedly in her cute dragon costume, trying to get the raven's attention. "Ya should come to me for costume advice Ace!"
When Marco finally made eye contact with you, you realized you had been staring at him the whole time. "You look nice, yoi."
Eh?
You tilted your head in confusion. "You're wearing a Jade mask right? Does that mean you're cosplaying as her for tonight?" Marco put a hand on your lower back to guide you to the passenger seat. "She's my favorite, yoi." He flashed a cheery close-eyed smile for you.
"Y-yes... Mia wanted us to match... Sorta."
"You don't mind riding shotgun do you?" Marco asked you softly, his face leaning down towards you so that you can hear him clearly. Brown eyes never breaking eye contact with your (e/c) ones.
Your heart picked up it's pace. You were thankful the mask was covering your flaring cheeks but you were sure he saw all the emotions in your eyes. "I-- I really don't... Mind."
"Can't y'all just get on with it already?" Mia whined impatiently. "I'm sure you'll have enough time to suck face at the party."
You quickly got in before Ace could join into the teasing. Marco leaving your side hesitantly before muttering curses. "We weren't sucking face." You mumbled just enough for them to hear.
