He stood by the roses, watching a younger version of him run around wildly in the meadow with a bright smile on his face.

He couldn't have been older than 10, the naiveness evident in his eyes. The overall scene sent a comforting warmth through [y/n]. He felt at peace, staring off into the meadow gently caressed by the sunlight, the laughter of the young kid filling the air, accompanied by the soft chirping of birds from above the sky.

This was supposed to be how it feels like.

But, a tingling sense of emptiness kept [y/n] from approaching elementary school him.

Something was missing.

"You thought it was over, didn't you..."

[y/n] shivered, feeling chills down his spine as he spun around, trying to find the source of the voice.

"I'm here."

He turned back to the meadow, finding another version of him standing next to the younger version of him still playing by the meadow. The kid him seems oblivious to the new presence, continuing on his merry way.

"Fallen Angel..."

Version him said while smiling. Yet his eyes weren't smiling, showing that he wasn't truly happy.

[y/n] tried to say something, to tell version him that he wasn't the 'Fallen Angel' anymore but nothing came out. Not even a sound.

He was left mute, frozen as version him started circling younger him, the same sickly sweet smile still on his face.

However, as if version him read his mind, he replied back.

"I know," he chuckled bitterly. "You're not the Fallen Angel here."

[y/n] stared, processing the words slowly before he came into realisation. He watched forlornly as the features of his 'Fallen Angel' self slowly morphed into something different.

He was still him, but he was different.

The dark eye circles, the forced smile...

"But I am you."

Their eyes met, and tears couldn't helped but form in [y/n]'s eyes, gathering till they slowly rolled down his cheeks.

Then everything faded into black, 'Fallen Angel''s unspoken words still lingering in his head as he slowly woke up from his slumber.

"No matter how far you run, we will always catch up..."

He can't escape forever.

He couldn't remember his dream.

But he didn't bother to anyway, because there were some more important things to deal with than whatever he had dreamt about in the bus.

[y/n] made his way into the gym, smiling as the three energetic simpletons rushed into the gym, still celebrating their victory joyfully.

"We're not there yet," came Daichi's voice from behind [y/n].

"Our goal is to win nationals!"

The team stared at him, a little surprised by his bold statement. [y/n], who had been a little drowsy having just woke up from their drive became wide awake.

Six simple words.

But they meant so much.

"Well yeah, isn't that obvious?" Kageyama said with a raised eyebrow. [y/n], having expected this type of answer from Kageyama, laughed heartily. It felt like old times again, when it was just Kageyama and [y/n].
