Chapter 5

*Time Skip*

It is the 9th which is the Thursday before the volleyball camp with Nekoma.

Tsukishima's POV:

I am going to the store to buy all the supplies I need to plan his party. I already told Daichi and Suga about my plan but everyone else is still in the dark. I bout streamers, balloons, and other decorations to put up in the room at the training camp. I bought candles but I am going to buy the cake in Tokyo so it doesn't get messed up on the trip there. I got some of Yama's favorite snacks for the ride up and then I went to look for a gift.

I walked through the stores looking for something that he would love, when something caught my eye. A dinosaur onesie. I don't know if I thought he would like it or if I just wanted to see him in it but I picked it up and put it in the cart almost instantly. I though about how cute he would look in it and began to blush at the thought. I quickly realized that I needed to get him something else. Something that he would enjoy not just me, so I set off looking again. However, I did keep the onesie in the cart to purchase as well.

I kept walking and walking scanning the isles for something, anything that Yamaguchi would like. Then I saw a jewelry case and was drawn in. I don't know if Yamaguchi really wore jewelry but I was tempted to buy him some so he could wear it. I scanned the case looking for something that would suit his style and wasn't flashy. Then I found rings that had engravings on them. Perfect I though, but what would I get on them. Then I thought about the perfect thing.

I went up to the employee working at the counter and asked for the rings and for them to be engraved with 'Tsukki' and 'Yama' the nicknames we had for each other, even if I didn't call him that out loud.

They got the sizes. I guessed on Yama's. We could always get it resized. Then they took the rings to the back and started engraving them. (Author here. yes, I know you would have to preorder rings like this. Just imagine for the story that they did it in store.) This is perfect. After some time, I got the rings back and payed for all the supplies and gifts.

*Time Skip to Yams Birthday (the next day) *

Yamagucci's POV:

It's my Birthday! I'm so excited to see who my soulmate is. I hope it's Tsukki. I sat up and immediately wrote 'Hello' on my arm. I wait for a response but one doesn't come. I get ready for school and remember that we have a training camp this weekend. I pack everything up and get dressed. Once I'm done, I look at my arm and see 'hey' in blue.

"OMG!" I scream with joy. They responded. "Yay!"

'How are you today.' I write back immediately.

'I am okay. I just woke up.' Is the response I receive. I was so happy that I got to talk to my soulmate that I didn't realize the time. If I didn't leave now, I was gonna be late. I sprinted out of the house and ran towards Tsukishima's house. As I reached his house, I saw him looking down at his arm in excitement. I didn't think much of it as I was too worried about being late.

As Tsukki realizes that I have arrived, he quickly pulls down his sleeve and starts walking, after muttering a quiet happy birthday. We get to school and see the bus with everyone else standing beside it. As we approach the school, I hear everyone shout "Happy Birthday Yamaguchi!" which makes me blush.

Hinata runs up to me and gives me a hug. Then he asks me if I talked to my soulmate yet, which lead to a conversation about what happened this morning. As I was finishing my story with Hinata I look to the side and see Tsukki lost in thought, but I let him be. We got on the bus and Tsukki put his headphones on. I sat quietly and looked out the window. Halfway through the drive to Nekoma I decided to try and talk to my soulmate again. I pulled out a pen and started writing.

'Hey sorry I didn't respond earlier but I was running late for school. I'm going to a volleyball training camp today and I had to run to my friend's house to make it on time.' After I wrote all that down I waited for a reply. While waiting I looked at Tsukki to see what he was doing. He was looking at his arm again. I wonder why. (why am I making Yams so oblivious? IDK) I was going to ask him what was wrong but then he looked at me and pulled his sleeve back down.

After he pulled his sleeve down, he turned and asked if I wanted any snacks which was unusual as he usually just listens to music the whole bus ride, But I said yes and he brought out a giant bag of all my favorite snacks.

As we were munching on snacks we talked idly until I grew tired and fell asleep.

I then woke up to Tsukki shaking me awake telling me that we have arrived.
