Another two weeks had passed and like before, Alex and I talked almost every day. He told me about some new people he had met in LA and he seemed really happy, which in turn meant I was happy. However, as Alex's two week vacation was coming to an end, that meant there were two weeks until I left for Michigan. We still hadn't talked about that part and I wasn't going to bring it up until later.

"So, whatcha working on?" Alex snapped me out of my trance. I looked down at my phone that I had propped up on my computer.
"Just college apps. Trying to get a head start." I replied, typing out a few more words on the essay.

"Ah, where to?"
"All over really. I'm not sure where I want to go so I want to have as many options as possible."

"yeah, but that's more than a year away. I'm sure you'll do great."

"Thanks. So, how are your new friends? Are you liking it in LA?"

He scratched the back of his neck before sighing and replying.
"Yeah. I really like it here. Everyone is super cool."
There was a sudden commotion in the background and Alex was subsequently tackled and his phone snatched.

"Daaaaang lover boy, you didn't tell me she was this pretty!" The boy said to the phone, only his nose up visible.

I laughed but then looked at myself in the corner of the screen. My usual no makeup, messy bun, and sweatshirt combination made me a real stunner.

"You flatter me. I'm chandler by the way."
"Nice to meet you, sort of. Gunnar."
I waved at the screen and noticed a figure coming up behind him.
"Uh Gunnar? Incoming."

He turned around, yelling out a few choice words and ducking before the phone changed hands again.

"Hi Chandler, I'm Jacko. Alex won't shut up about you by the way, you should follow me on- hey!" He yelled as the phone was taken back by Alex. He ran away, into some random room, shut the door, and locked it before speaking again.
"I am so sorry. They just won't leave me alone."

"So, you talk about me huh"

"I uh, no. Well I do, but not weird, just like a normal amount. Anyways."
We talked for a while longer before Alex inevitably got distracted and silence filled the rooms once again. I was humming music when I heard faint voices outside the door.
"What were you idiots yelling about?"

"Chill out, we were just having fun. Alex is talking to his girl from Hawaii."
"Girl, you mean that stupid surfer that won't leave him alone?"
My ears perked up but I noticed Alex wasn't paying attention.

"Woah, don't you think that's a bit harsh?" Jacko said.

"yeah, she seems super nice, I don't know what you're so upset about."

"Hello, she's obviously using him."

"Really Eva? That's a stretch. From what Alex told us she wasn't even interested at the start."

It was Eva again. I tried my best to brush it off but I no longer felt like talking tonight.

"Hey, I'm pretty tired and I have some errands to run tomorrow, I'll talk to you later."

"Okay, everything alright?"

"Yeah. Say goodnight to everyone for me."

"Well, thing is they want to come back with me. SO you'll get to meet them soon enough."
"That sounds great." I said, ending the call.

I flopped back down on my bed, shutting off my computer and leaving myself in my thoughts.

What is this girl's deal? Why does she hate me so much?
