"Killua." Mito-san gets the young male's attention. Killua looks up at her from his place at the dinner table, spaghetti hanging from his mouth as he eats. "I don't feel comfortable letting you go back home after hearing what happened to you. We'll help you find some place you can live permanently. Until then you'll stay in Gon's room with him." She says, not leaving room for Killua to turn her down.

"I- I can't accept that. I mean I-"

"No. It's final." Mito waves him off. "If your parents object I'll take them to court. I studied at a prestigious law school, yknow. I decided to raise Gon instead of becoming a lawyer. But I haven't lost my touch in the slightest."

"You can say that again." Gon grumbles under his breath. Mito whacks his hand with a towel. Gon fakes a whining noise.

"Still, I don't want to be a burden. And don't say that I'm not, because I know I'm causing unwarranted trouble for your family." Killua looks down. Mito whacks him on the head with the towel. Shocked, he looks back up at her.

"I said you're staying! It's my choice, not yours. So don't think you're being a burden. I'm choosing this. You're not forcing it on me at all. Neither do I have any obligation or feel as if I do. It's my choice." She huffs. "The only inconvenience would be if you're uncooperative. Will you be?"

Killua's eyes widen, getting a little watery. "N-no. I won't." He holds back his tears, touched by everything she's willing to do for him. "Thank you."

She sighs in relief. "Good. And Gon-" she turns to her nephew. "I swear if you don't STOP leaving the attic window open I'm locking you out for a whole night!" Her eye twitches in annoyance. "I was jittered out of my skin when I went up there to clean! A crow flew in and freaked out!"

Gon laughs, but quickly realizes that he did and stifles it in fear. He was too late though, Mito heard. She whacks him with the towel again. He pouts. "Sorrrrryyyy~"

"I don't wanna hear it!" She frowns, crossing her arms. "I swear... anyways. Killua you'll need new clothes huh?"

"N-no! I'm fine I don't-"

"STOP IT! For the last time I'm choosing to do this for you. I'm not guilt-tripped or anything. We'll go shopping this weekend downtown." Mito crosses her arms. Killua backs down, knowing she won't give up.

"Thank you, ma'am."

Mito sighs. "I'm going to have a migraine if you keep calling me ma'am. Either call me Mito-san or just Mito." She smiles.

A small smile tugs at Killua's lips. "Alright, Mito-san."

~Later~

Back in Gon's room, Killua finally lets himself cry. Gon rushes to him, worried. "Hey hey hey, what's wrong?"

Killua wraps his arms around Gon's neck and continues to cry into Gon's clavicle. "Nothing's wrong. That's just it."

Gon sighs, understanding. "I see." He rubs small circles between Killua's shoulder blades. Gon smiles, glad that Killua will stay. Not because he's his boyfriend. Because it means Killua will be safe. Hopefully, it also means that Killua will be happier.

"K-Kalluto is probably worried, though." Killua sniffles, moving away. "I need to skip first period tomorrow to go and see him at his school. If I call my family will just trace it and eavesdrop."

"Do you want me to go with you? What if-"

"Yeah. That'd be nice." Killua nods. "But I do want some private time with Kalluto... so there'll be a time when I'd like it if you left us alone."

Gon smiles. "Of course! Anything you need, babe!"

Killua chokes.

"B-babe?!"
