"mhm sure what? you don't trust me? is that it besson?" she asks, sitting up straight. like she is almost challenging him. "anyway let's clear the conversation so there isn't a brawl ." sadie changes the subject, reaching for something underneath the table. the only person she is sitting by is jack. "there won't be a brawl sadie, just a civil conversation."
serenity folds her hands, on top of her menu. "let's play a game, word association. corbyn you first." he rolls his eyes, and clicks his tongue for what is initialing for him. "ok. serenity." he says as the first point. "single." everyone looks at her, speechless. she laughs hysterically, almost crying from laughter. "ok ok. my turn. corbyn." she says through her laughter, trying to keep it low key. "a cheater." jonah sips his tea, almost hiding from what he said.
"holy shit."
the table starts to get rilled up, between serenity and corbyn yelling. to jonah trying to get in the middle of it. then there is sadie, jack, and zach and daniel just observing. not interfering. "i'm done. you know what corbyn? go fuck yourself, i already told you." serenity grabs her purse and leaves the restaurant in anger. jonah follows her, keys in hand.
"serenity wait." he is just shy of her arm, but he luckily grabs ahold of her hand. pulling her back. "what? what the fuck do you want? oh my, jo i'm so sorry. can you take me home?" the boy nods and leads her to his car, helping her in. being a gentleman, better then whatever corbyn can be.
"what do you want for dinner since that happened?" jonah asks, buckling his seatbelt "food i don't give two shits right now, whatever you will drive me to." she says, bitting her nails. she only does that when she is really pissed off or really sad. so possibly the mix of two?
"Taco Bell? or In-N-Out?" jonah asks, blasting the air conditioning really high.
"what the fuck you will drive me to! jeez jonah! do i need to yell at you too?" she raises her voice, scaring him. "no you don't. i'm just helping. please don't get mad at-" serenity cuts him off, placing her hand on top of his.
"i'm not mad. i'm scared, sad, all the above? just it slipped and well i don't know what to do." serenity says, taking a long exhale. almost like she is taking a band-aid off. "scared about what?" jonah asks, looking at serenity. "corbyn. us. well i...i don't know. you.. you see." she gets cut off by tears escaping her eyes.
"hey hey it's ok to cry, sometimes it's best if you don't bottle up your feelings ren." jonah gives her some knowledge, rubbing her knuckles. there isn't a lot that he can do right now, since he is focused on the road. "but... but jonah. i love... love him. i still do. is that normal? are we normal?" she asks, starting to shake. serenity bites her nails when she is pissed off or sad, then her shakes follow. something she has lived with since a child.
"yeah that is normal. it always is. but for now serenity you guys need a break. it is for the best, you started school and need to focus on that then your music. and of course he needs to learn to have respect for girls, and not act like a douche. again but for now serenity those feelings will never change. he will eventually come around and be there for you. just take care of yourself for a couple days, then check up on him." jonah pulls up to a local In-N-Out parking lot and parks, he then takes the keys out of the ignition and hugs serenity. which she only cries more. heartbroken, pissed, failed.
"jonah...can i kiss you?" serenity asks, looking up from his chest. he kisses some tears that have made their way down her cheek. "you can, if you-" it doesn't take her long to kiss him, nothing like corbyn.
but again she is heartbroken and doing stupid things that she will regret later. "food?" she smiles, slowly pulling away from the boy. he nods his head and they go inside, granite it is nine o'clock in California, so it has some little customers. they order and get their drinks, then find a spot to dine.
"tomorrow i will text you to wake up, sadie won't drive you. but i might call you." their food comes and the boy takes the number, and walks back to the counter. "jonah did i do the right thing? i don't know. why does it end like this?" serenity asks, opening her burger package.
"like i said renny, it will hurt. love makes you do stupid shit, been there done that. but you both need time." something she hasn't realized, time goes on and on but never stops. never stops for love.
"but i want to apologize, he doesn't deserve me flipping out on him. we have been through a lot though." she whispers, they both start to eat. "serenity don't say that. space is all you need right now." she rolls her eyes, she doesn't want space. "but....." she trails off, taking a drink of her soda. maybe something will change. maybe. "your love for him will never leave your body. sorbyn will be a thing. don't worry!" jonah touches her hand, and smiles.
"sorbyn?"
