Chapter Thirty

"It's Valentine's Day!" Daniel gracefully came to a stop in his socks. Sliding down the stairs was not a good idea, though.

Emiliano and Cristina gave him their attention.

"I would like to get your opinion on my gifts." He raised both arms to show them the bags that he was holding. "They're each for my besties." He set them down on the kitchen island.

Emiliano stepped forward from the stove and looked inside one of the bags that had hearts decorated with glitter on the front.

"Whose is this one?" He raised an eyebrow when a glass heart caught his eye.

Daniel cleared his throat and almost snatched the bag away. "That one is very special."

"If it's for Javier, I don't he's going to like it." He stepped back and pointed at the bag with his coffee in hand.

Daniel gasped. "It's not Javier. It's Xavier and why do you say that?"

Emiliano shrugged and took a sip of his black coffee. "It's a little girly, no?"

Daniel nibbles on his bottom lip, taking out the glass heart that was inside. "I think it's cute. Besides, I can just make it a little manlier if I added . . . I don't know—socks?"

Cristina giggled. "You're funny."

Daniel glared at her. "Then what do you suggest?" He leaned his hip on the edge of the counter as he turned up to face her.

She twisted in her stool and looked at him. "You're overthinking it. Just give him something from the heart." She patted the left side of her chest. "Or you can just humiliate yourself as you make him feel awkward."

Daniel thought about it. "Can you help me?"

Cristina munched on her Frosted Flakes. "How much time you got?"

Daniel took out his phone from his pocket and glanced down at the time. "Not a lot."

Cristina sighed. "You should get him a gift card."

Daniel rolled his eyes. "That's even worse than a glass heart."

Emiliano entered their conversation. "But better than socks."

"Fine. I'll figure it out myself."

It was indeed Valentine's Day. It was a day where couples would show some love to one another and maybe even show off that they found their soulmate to all the other lonely fucks.

Emma and her friends always got each other gifts. Each one went home with four bags hanging from their arms. They never let each other down.

They were single, they always were during the last past years of high school so they ignored all the sex people were having and always celebrated their love for their friendship. It was like a second Christmas or Friendsgiving.

They exchange gifts, inside the circular booth that was in the treehouse. It's like another one of their traditions.

Connor, Daniel, and Emma ignored their other halves because it was always each other that came first.

"I've got to go and give Tara her gift."

Brian laughed. "Psh. That's funny, didn't think she'd enjoy that micropenis of yours."
