Habits of nights out

The girls were now old enough to go to clubs together. This new found freedom was exhilarating. They would meet up for pre-drinks at Jenny's house, take photos and laugh about the week. Walking to town in their heels and thin jackets, you would be easily forgiven for forgetting their insecurities and worries. But then again that was the purpose of nights like these.

The clubs were always too loud and too cramped, but the girls were young and excited so ignored the flaws. This was their newly founded patch of heaven, void of responsibilities.

Confidence fueled by innocence, they took over the dance floor and celebrated their young life. A few drinks in and habits started to form: see a cute boy, catch his eye, somehow flirt across the room, dance together, make out and ditch before the night ended.

Rebecca wasn't the only one to follow this unconscious formula. Ellie, Lily and Jenny were all up for making out with a stranger. They weren't naive enough to overlook the states they got. They understood the lusts and likely thoughts of the older men around them. It didn't matter though. They looked after each other while absorbing the attention. It made them feel in control of their own sexuality and bodies.

Bobby and Charlotte would come out too, even though it was obvious Bobby wanted to stay at home. From her uncomfortable glances around the dark room, to the nervous fiddling with her rings. Rebecca tried her best to soothe her friend, but it was usually cast aside, and for her own sake she held her tongue.
