This building is just like the Maze. It might take us a while to find the medical wing, but in time, I hope Minho is still alive. I hope everyone's parts were going well and that we'll get the kids to safety. What was going to happen if we succeed? Will W.I.C.K.E.D. try finding us again? Will Teresa help track where we are? It was too awful to think about, so I erased it from my mind. While we were walking down the hall, Teresa spoke to Thomas like it was urgent.

"Thomas, you have to listen to me. Getting that serum won't save Newt."

The serum may not cure him, but it'll help him for a little while. I don't like how she brought it up; there are so many reminders that Newt is slowly turning into a Crank.

"It might buy him some time, but-"

"Just ignore her. She's trying to get inside your head," Newt spoke through the mask.

Teresa didn't care what he said and continued talking. "Thomas, listen. You know what's going on out there. People are dying. The world is dying. There's something about your blood I don't understand."

"Open it," Thomas demanded once we reached the door.

Being a little annoyed, she reached her hand out to put her thumb in and continued to try convincing Thomas.

"Just let me run some tests," she said. "I promise I can protect you."

The tone in her voice sounded desperate. Maybe she was onto something. What if Thomas could help save Newt? Still, she's just as desperate as the rest of them. Then, Thomas couldn't take it anymore. He furiously took his mask off and got up in her face as he spoke.

"Yeah? Like you protected Minho?"

Newt grabbed onto Thomas's arm to get him to calm down. "What are you doing?"

He shoved him off and continued talking resentfully at her. This was the first time I had ever seen Thomas get angry at Teresa. Maybe this was finally his breaking point. But the truth is, I can see Thomas still loves her. He wanted to love her, but he knows that he can't.

"How many people is it gonna take? How many people do they have to round up, torture, kill? Huh? When the hell does it stop?"

Teresa sounded calm as she answered, "It stops when we find a cure."

"There is no goddamn cure!"

Dread squeezed at my heart like it was going to burst. Thomas and Newt may not believe that there is one, but now that I'm starting to see it from Teresa's perspective... I think I believe her. Maybe the answer is in Thomas's blood, and she just has to find it. Although I don't agree with her about promising protection, I think she's really close to finding it. I can't be too sure. Maybe I'm being just as desperate because of Newt. Maybe I want to believe there is a cure to save him so I don't have to carry out my promise. When that time does come... I don't know whether to kill him, or turn the gun to kill myself.
