"Is he going to be okay?"

Taehyung asked for Seokjin's sake. The way he was pacing around on the wooden tiled floor proved that he was more worried than he was letting on. Dawon dabbed Namjoon's split forehead with a chemical-soaked cotton ball, her tongue poked the inside of her cheek as she concentrated on cleaning the wound.

"He'll survive," she stated confidently, pulling away and examining her work. "But..." She turned with a sympathetic look. "He's going to need stitches. I don't have any anesthesia, so that could be quite painful. I'll have to check him once he wakes to make certain, but I think he may also have a concussion. So, for the next few weeks, he'll have to take things easy."

Jimin appeared at the top of the stairs with a box of extra candles from the basement. He placed them on the table as Taehyung reached over to help him light them. Dawon had mentioned needing extra lighting, seeing as the sun had set completely and the kitchen table where she was operating was dark. The candles cast eery shadows across the walls and their faces.

"Seokjin-oppa." Dawon motioned him to come closer. "Take hold of your friend's hand and squeeze it tightly if he begins to wake up. This is going to be painful." Seokjin nodded solemnly and did as he was told.

"Hand me the anesthetic." Dawon held out her gloved hand patiently as Taehyung placed the bottle in her open palm. Dawon hummed her thanks and began to apply the liquid to Namjoon's skull. "This will help numb the surrounding area." She picked up a threaded needle and began to run it through one of the lit flames.

"Ready?" she asked, smiling warmly at Seokjin. Slowly, she punctured the skin around Namjoon's wound and began to meticulously sew it closed. Taehyung quickly looked away, the sight of the needle threading in and out of flesh made him sick to his stomach.

"Where's Hoseok-hyung?" Taehyung asked, attempting to distract himself from the scene before him.

"He's at the church with our halmeoni." She looked up from her work. "Reverend-nim rang the bell for a town meeting shortly after the blackout. I was planning on heading over there but had been in the middle of a shower when the water stopped. I was doing my best to remove the soap from my hair with a towel when you showed up."

Taehyung decided to study Dawon instead of what she was doing with her hands. Her hair did appear slightly disheveled, but she was still gorgeous. Attractive appearances seemed to be a trait of the Jung family. Even their grandmother was said to be a wickedly attractive woman.

A sudden groan pulled Taehyung's attention elsewhere. Seokjin quickly squeezed Namjoon's hand as he began to whimper and move.

"Hold him down!" Dawon instructed, her voice raised. Jimin and Taehyung quickly pressed the man to the table, effectively dulling his thrashing.
