{Soda POV}

When Darry and I walked into the room, I just started bawling. Darry was already crying.

"He is stable, but his condition is critical." The doctor said.
"Thank you, doctor."

Darry sat on his left, and I sat on his right.

"Pony, baby can you hear me?" Darry said.
"Darry what's gonna happen?" I choked out.
"I don't know lil' buddy, but Pony is strong and he will pull through this." Darry said he was stroking Pony's hair.

~time skip~

{Y/N POV}

I was in so much pain at first, but now I couldn't feel it. I was numb.

But for the first time in a while, I could hear somebody speaking. Although it was muffled, I could tell right away it a couple of boys. Wait- I didn't really know any boys.

"Please Darry, we can't let him go!"
"Soda please, it's been 2 months! Pony wouldn't want this. Don't be selfish."

Who is Pony? Let him go? I was probably hallucinating.

"My name is not Pony!" I tried to talk, but I couldn't. Nothing came out.

A couple of days had went by, and I was starting to feel a bit better. I was starting to feel less groggy.

Then, I woke up. I looked around, but didn't recognize one person in the room.

{Darry POV}

I have been so stressed lately. Work has just been feeling more exhausting, and my baby brother was in the hospital on the verge of death.

I was just sitting in the hospital room like I did every other day, hoping that just maybe, he'll wake up.

Then it happened. He fluttered his eyelids a few times before opening them for the first time in 2 months.

"Pony, baby your awake!" I said hugging him. But something was off.
"Who are you?" He said.
"What do you mean, I'm your big brother, Darry."
"I don't have a big brother."
"Soda," Darry said. "go and get the doctor."

He didn't remember us.

{Ponyboy POV}

When I opened my eyes, nobody was in the room with me. I was alone.

"Darry?" I said.

I went through a moment of shock. I sounded like a girl!

I walked into the bathroom and I couldn't believe what I saw in the mirror- I was in fact a girl! I must've screamed because a doctor came running in.

"What's the problem?"
"I- uh-"
"It's okay, just lay back down."
"What happened?"
"You were struck by lightning while walking in the park."
"What?"

I had to figure this phenomenon out. Think Ponyboy think, you can't say who you are- they'll think your crazy.

I just had to toughen up and get through this on my own.

"Well Ms. Holloway, it looks like your cleared to go home." The doctor gave me a cheesy smile.

"Thanks."
Wait- home? Where was home?
"Um- excuse me, could you call my mother?" I asked, assuming I had a mom.
"Yes, of course."

I sat in a worn out leather chair as I awaited for my so called "mother." Who knows, maybe it will be nice to have a mom again.

"Y/N!" I heard as a slightly taller lady with a smaller build and blonde hair came rushing towards me.
"Mom?"
"Oh my goodness are you alright?" She asked, examining me.
"Yeah, I'm ok."
"Let's get you home."

I walked into the parking lot to find that she had a brand new, cherry red mustang.

"Go ahead sweetie, let's get you home."

I climbed into the front seat of the car and we started driving, and of course we ended up on the soc side of the neighborhood. What we pulled up to was practically a mansion. Why hadn't this lady been with me while I was at the hospital if she was my mom?
