{Y/N POV}

I dragged myself out the front door. I knew I needed to do this- but by no means did I want to.

"Be back by supper!" I heard my mother call from inside.
"Alright mom!" I said back, hoping she heard me.

I walked along the sidewalk, staring at my feet with every step I took. I just didn't want this to be awkward. I hope none of the gang was there- but I knew without a doubt they would be- minus Steve.

When the Curtis house came into sight, I contemplated if I should just go back home. I knew that if I did that this would still be an open wound.

I walked up to the porch and knocked on the door. To my luck, Sodapop answered.

"Oh uh- hey Y/N." He didn't look like his usual, bubbly self.
"Hi Sodapop."
"Come in," he said. "Ponyboy is in his room."

I was right. When I walked in, the whole gang was there except for Steve. I walked along the small hallway until I reached Ponyboy's room. I knocked on the door, not wanting to be rude.

"Come in!"
"Hi, Ponyboy." He just stared at me- like there were words written on me.
"I need to talk to you." I said, in a desperate tone.
"Okay." He said quietly.
"Why did you do it?" He asked.
"I don't know Ponyboy- it was so stupid, Steve said he wanted to show me something, so I followed him outside, and he-he kissed me."
"I know."

"Y-you know?"
"Uh- yeah. Steve told me right after."
"What did you tell him?"
"Things I probably shouldn't have. I-I told him I hated him and that nobody wanted him here anyways."
"He wrote me a letter," I said taking the crumpled piece of paper out of my jacket pocket. I read it to him.
"Oh wow."

"Yeah, you need to apologize to him. Have you seen him lately?"
"No, not since that day."
"Ponyboy-" he cut me off by pulling me into a kiss.
"What was that?"
"My burning desire to kiss you- to have you as mine."

He was right. No matter what we did, that electric love was always there- pulling me
us towards each other like a magnetic force.

"How would you feel about meeting my family?" I asked. "The right way."
"That would be amazing."

We walked back to my house. It was around 4:00, and I knew my mom would be making dinner soon.

We made small talk all the way to my house. The dinner my mom made was amazing. She made her famous lasagna.

"How is it, Ponyboy?" My mother asked.
"It's amazing, Ms. Holloway. Much better than the blue mashed potatoes at home." We all laughed as he told us the story how Sodapop always had to spice the food up.

The cool night had turned into a windy, rainy night. You could hear the branches of trees swooshing outside, and the droplets of rain plummeting on my window.

"We should probably get you home." I said to Pony.
"Yeah, Darry'll freak if I'm home late."
"Why?"
"Uhm- that's a story for another day." He scratched the back of his neck.

We found ourselves about a block away from the Curtis house, when a bolt of lightning struck. We looked at each other with pale expressions, and practically flew over to the house and inside the door.

"So much for electric love."

The End.
