{Y/N POV}

I peeked out the door, slowly, trying not to make a sound.

"Oh my God Ponyboy." I said. "It's just Steve."
"What is he doing up here!"
"Steve, how did you find us?"
"I've known about this place for a long time. I figured you guys might be up here."
"Oh- ok."

We all walked back to the Curtis' house together. I was starting to really like Steve- as a friend of course. I used to think he was annoying, but he can just be- brutally honest at times.

"Was Darry lookin' for me?" Ponyboy broke the silence.
"No. Just wanted to check on you guys- make sure no bears got to ya." He joked.

Pony gave me a weird look- like an "I'll tell you later" look. I just nodded in agreement.

The walk back to the Curtis house was sorta awkward. I didn't realize that Steve could actually be nice I guess that's what happens when you get kinda close to somebody.

"Welp," Steve started. "we're back." He opened the door for us. I don't know why, but I was getting a weird vibe from this.
"Hey Pony!" Soda said. "Who's this?" He asked, eyes on me.
"Oh, sorry I forgot to introduce Y/N. Well everyone, this is Y/N Holloway, and she's my girlfriend." He said with a smile.

"Oh, hey Y/N, my name is Sodapop. He pointed to a couple of the other guys and told me their names. The one guy- I think his name is Dallas. He looked real intimidating.
"Oh, don't worry about him." Ponyboy said. I must've been staring at Dallas. "He's a softie." He said, which made them all laugh.
"Hey man, don't get wise." Dallas said. He had a real strong New York accent.

We spent most of the time just hanging out. All of the boys were so nice and welcoming, and by the end of the night I had felt like I'd known them my whole life.

It was now about 9:00, and the boys were slowly leaving. The last to leave, was Steve. Ponyboy was outside doing something with Darry and Soda, and it was just Steve and I, alone.

"Hey Y/N." He said.
"Yeah, Steve?"
"Come here, I wanna show you something."
"Okay, you totally don't sound like a serial killer." We laughed.

He took me outside, and we sat on the two chairs on the shuffle board.

"Y/N," he said. "I really like you."
"Oh- um-"
"I think your real pretty." He said, inching closer to me.
"Steve, I'm flattered, but Ponyboy and I are kind of a thing." I said, a bit nervous.
"Oh, forget about that wimp." He said, narrowing his eyes.

He pulled my face close to his, and our lips met. That turned into a whole kiss.

"Steve- I- I've gotta go." I said getting up, and my chair falling over.
"Y/N, wait- I'm sorry!" I could hear in the distance. I didn't even bother to look back at Ponyboy or anyone else. I had only one thing in my mind, and that was getting home.

I had just messed up, badly.
