Y/n's Pov

I looked around.

Everything seemed new, everything seemed magical. I was stuck in that room for days, same old gray walls with the lighting changing as the day progresses.

I looked down at the puddle at my feet. I had to wear a cloak for precautionary measures, but it didn't really bother me.

I jumped in the puddle, and continued to walk with Kicha. I realized it wasn't  that I was tall but she was incredibly short. Averaging no where near my neck.

At once something spotted my eyes, and my nose. We had gone by the booths. Most of them seemed like little shacks, with a table and a blanket over head to block heat.

I peered and looked at what they were selling. Meat, and veggies on sticks, some were coated in some kind of sauce. They called them Kebabs...

I tried to be conscious of how I was acting. Although it seemed to be rather hard since I was practically drooling. Kicha tugged on my cloak.

"Want some?" She shook her wallet. I shook my head, it'd be best not to worry her.

"Oh it's fine!" She cheerfully dragged me along to the booth and ordered Kebabs. We sat along a cliff side near the border of mud whale.

"Thanks..." I smiled and began stuffing my face. It was godly.

"Did you not have such things with you comrades?" She asked. I looked down, then back up at her.

"No... But at least I can experience this now," I patted Kicha's head.

It was true, back at the force we had what was the bare minimum. Apples themselves were a treat, meat was an even finer delicacy. As for my "comrades" we had no such thing. Most would do anything to climb a rank, even if it meant murdering someone. Unfortunately to say I was in that most.

I stared at the sand, and reached out my hands. It seemed as if it gone forever, was there even an end? Or was this island for ever floating by?

I heard a sound, Kicha seemed to notice too.

"What is happening?" She asked, I could only shrug, "Stay here. I see what's going on."

It appeared to be that the children were practicing handling of thymia.

"Has the word gotten out of the attack?" It was likely. It had been a day already and if they didn't do start preparing they would be sure to cease existence. Although even with preparation they still had an extremely low chance of survival.

The people's thymia usage was low and clumsy. With thymia a person's attack could increase, accuracy could be increased but it seemed to barely make a difference. At this rate it may be easier to just practice with, it'd use less energy.

Kicha stormed back. "The attack is in 7-6 days," She stated and continued, "They are making the children fight."

It was a necessary measure. With the Mud Whales people decreased due to the last attack, and the suspiciously high amount of children thymia users, they could very much be the reason they survive.

"I see..." I focused my gaze on the kids, "You are a thymia user as well, correct?"

"Yeah?... But Ouni is much better than I'll ever be," She answered.

I stood up, this was the perfect chance to see how capable this island was. To see if it had a chance of winning even.

"Hit me."

"What? Why?" Kicha startled be my sudden seriousness, I tried to conseal my laughter.

"Hit me," I repeated, "I can help you improve this way."
