Y/n's Pov

Improve?" She mumbled.

"Yes." I answered. Improvement was necessary for any species, as well as a natural occurrence.

"Shouldn't we do something about the children first?"

I looked away, it seemed as if she didn't understand.

What?" She asked. I stiffened.

A bit my lip and tried to phrase in the best way possible, "This is necessary for you to win," I tried to look her in the eye, I probably seemed like a monster. Saying stuff like the children should fight. But if they didn't they'd have no chance of survival at all. I continued, "This is not a game it is a battle."

"But-" I swung a stick to her face. This was going nowhere.

"You need to practice as well. I can instruct you a bit as well," I stated as I pulled forth another stick from the nearby forest. I raised the intensity and difficulty of each swing. She can't keep dodging forever.

"Hey!" I launched a stick at her. If she can talk she still has energy left. Her attention isn't fully focused on this yet.

"You said you had thymia right? Then you can attack with your surroundings," I reminded her. She glanced around.

"Can't she be anymore discreet?" Surely the Mud Whale is a little stronger. Weren't they a clan of criminals, although I probably shouldn't hold them to the army's standards.

She prepared her stance although it was slow to start and could easily be broken by a pebble or two

"Time waits for no one!" I reminded her. They seemed to need a lot of work. Thymia usage seemed to be unnatural here.

She observed her surroundings. Good. At least she was paying some attention to what I was saying.

She threw some pebbles and ran into the forest. It was obviously for a surprise attack. The dense forest would be easy to hide and attack from behind.

I allowed her. A surprise attack seemed like the best bet. If your enemy is strong take the on when they're weaker. Take them on when they are off guard.

I walked inside the forest.

"Are you hiding now, well I guess it's sensible like animals people fear, cower, and run away from what is stronger," I said. "Would she fall for my taunt?"

She didn't, which was good. I was proud that she was able to not burst out into rage.

I walked around again, the dense forest was much denser than I thought. It was hard to move without making much noise.

I tried again to call her, "Oi! Where are you!" This prompted a little laugh.

I heard a rustle. "Was it now?"

And then a jolt of speed, Kicha sped here with a stick in hand. I tried to enforce a shield. It was quick and purely out of reflex.

The shield was stronger than intended. I felt an immense amount of thymia surround me.

"Was this the people of the Mud Whale?!" I didn't even know this was possible... At least with such inexperience. She seemed to have a normal amount saying something that Ouni more.

Ouni... A bit of me, mainly my army self tingled to fight him.

I focused back on what was happening. My shield shattered, it was expected such a blow even I, one of the top among my peers couldn't hold that off.

I looked back at Kicha she seemed to barely stand. She stumbled and fell. That seemed to have worn her out. I surprisingly was relatively worn out.

With my analysis completed it seemed the mud whale had a chance.

I walked down to the edge of the island, carrying Kicha in my arms. The sea of sand. The little grains of sand moved away as we move forth.

As I looked out I spotted Ouni. My heart racing, "Ack stop!"

He looked upset and stressed, now wasn't the time to be thinking of fighting him, besides I was worn out myself.

I sat Kicha down behind a rock. I grabbed some Grass and flowers for her to lay on. Making sure there was no bugs, she'd probably freak out if she saw a centipede crawling across her nose.

I thought grass and flowers would be better than rocks and sand.

After I made sure Kicha was safe and situated I walked over to Ouni.

"Hey..." I smiled he tensed, I quickly took off my hood, "It's me."

"Oh," he relaxed. Did he not question why I was here, I was expecting something.

I sat down beside him, the waves of sand shifting around.
