I was driving the car. Away from the busy part of the city, it was quiet finally or maybe it was because I was blocking everyone out.
"So tell me," Klaus said leaning up from the back seat. "Why the change of heart?" He basically whispered in my ear which made me glance back for a moment.
"No change of heart." A knife was thrown at the back of my chair but I didn't flinch.
"Yeah, you're still a stone-cold bitch, right? That's why you dress like that?" Clicking my tongue I smiled before my lips went into a thin line.
"At least when I dress like an emo ninja turtle I don't look constipated." There wasn't a response from him after that. Sighing in content we were almost there.
"Where exactly are we going?" Why does that kid always sound like he's at the end of his tether?
"A bit late to ask that question." Breathing this out it was only ten minutes ago the range of my ability was cancelled out. It'll be hard for them to find us. About 48 hours with the fence I made.
"Can't you rumour her?" The girls started whispering to each other in the back of the truck.
"If you try anything I'll toss you out the back of the car." Both girls stopped talking.
"Where are we going?" Speeding up the car it was long after car and the high beams were on.
"A safe house." Smiling when seeing what looked like a dead-end come there was no faulted in the speed.
"You know it looks like we're going to hit those trees up there," Klaus said making everyone look up ahead.
"Do you know where the break is?" Luther said and I chuckled darkly to myself.
"This would be a good time for the break." Ninja turtle said and smiling I sped up just a little more.
"Vanya!" One of them shouted but it was too late we went through the portal and spinning the car to the side before breaking to a stop the car slid in front of my childhood home.
"What's the deal, crazy lady!" Preppy boy said and I laughed.
" hope you all shat yourselves." Getting out of the car the weather had changed from spring to autumn. Red and orange leaves covered the ground as I walked towards the front door. Hearing the other doors open and shut the group looked out to the country house.
Not bothering to wait for all the questions I unlocked the front door with the key hidden in the pot plant beside the door. Sighing when switching on the lights I cracked my neck and rolled my shoulders back. Trying my best not to look at the blood that still lightly stained the right side wall of my dad's blood I went right over to the kitchen pouring myself a glass of water."Who's house is this?" Vanya asked. The first person to say anything actually.
"My parents." Simply saying that while chugging down the water. Really needed that.
"And the blood-covered wall?" The question from Ninja turtle made me sigh. I'd tried to remove as much as I could but the stain was still there.
"My dads." He gave me and then his siblings a raised brow.
"So you killed your parents and that's why you've been on the run? Only a crack head would do something so..." using his own knife it was against his neck and walked over to him.
"Oh, so you think you've got me all figured out. A little girl who had a temper tantrum and killed her parents. Well, guess what Mr shit for brains not everyone has fucked up parents." The knife fell to the floor stabbing the wood as I stepped closer to him.
"My parents were murdered right in front of me by the same men chasing you. Now detective next time you decide to judge a person have more evidence because right now you're a fucking idiot." A tear almost rolled down my cheek as I turned back ignoring the stares from the rest of the group a bottle of whisky flew out of the cupboard and into my hand when I walked up to my bedroom from the stairs beside the kitchen.
....
Sipping the whisky while looking out at the autumn forest and river just in sight there was a knock on the windowsill. I know who was coming, Klaus flopped out onto the roof coughing while doing so.
"How's the moping going?" Grumbling out I offered him a glass but he didn't take it.
"Why are you out here Klaus?" It was getting dark and my breath lightly fogged in the air.
"Well, apparently you'll talk to me because I was the first to be non-frozen." Humming in response I sipped the whisky down once more.
"You looked the least threatening. Hippy Jesus." He nodded looking out and didn't say anything. "So your family sucks." Klaus laughed
"Tell me about it. They're all morons me included. Now about the weather..." There was another knock on the window and Luther stood there.
"We need to talk." Sighing I finished the glass standing.
"Yeah yeah, whatever." Walking off the edge I floated down back to the front door eyes shot towards me when I walked through the front door. "Let's get this over with." Clearing my throat Luther and Klaus came walking down the stairs. "My name is (y/n) (l/n) and for the past fourteen years, I've been on the run since the night Mobius killed my parents. Questions ?" Everyone's hands raised.
"My name is Klaus and I have a question." Crossing my arms watching as he stood from the arm of the couch. "Why is it Autumn outside?"
"I used a time blip around the house." Klaus stared blankly at me so I sighed. There's going to be so much explaining to do tonight. "This meaning anything in the radius of the device is pulsed in the 24 hours it's placed in. Along with an invisible shield around the perimeter that alerts the people inside the moment someone unwanted enters. Next question." White hulk stood up slightly awkwardly.
"My name is Luther. I uh...." what's with all of them talking as if this is a rehab session? "If this group is really after us then why take us here. I mean you lived here didn't you." Pinching the bridge of my nose I sighed.
"This place is hidden and the last place they'd look. We have 48 hours before they can even track down our location and we'll be on our separate ways then."
"If you did live here then they'll be looking." He got nudged by Luther.
"You didn't start with your name." He spoke through gritted teeth.
"Hi my name is Diago and I think this is a horrible idea."
"I lived here more than fourteen years ago. I burned all evidence when sneaking into Mobius of the location and all that are involved are dead. It's unlikely they'll find us here." Another hand was raised.
"Hi my name is Vanya and I was wondering why it wouldn't be easier just to use the briefcase to travel to a different time." They really don't know anything. They'd be dead in the void right now if not for me.
"The moment you use a briefcase Mobius can track you down the minute you time travel. A briefcase Is a beam of light at the end of the tunnel. A watch you can travel and can't be tracked. They have to descramble the metadata in order to find your location. Often taking two or three days." It was quiet for a moment only the constant ticking of the wall clock could be heard.
"Allison here. I'm just wondering why you decided to help. You seemed pretty determined to leave us." My lips went into a thin line for a moment.
"Family. I lost mine to Mobius and I don't want you to lose yours. Just to be clear I'm not helping you fix the timeline, just giving you time to sort things out. There's a king bed in my parent's room, two single beds in the guest room and the couch down here." I said finishing my speech walking towards the stairs.
"That's not enough bedding," Luther said and I waved him off.
"Not my problem." It had been a while since I'd slept. Other than the occasional microsleep.
"You're awfully quiet night. Star stuck?" Klaus spoke up as I started walking up the stairs.
"No, you idiot. I'm just thinking."
