People are not born equal. In this world, the sounding truth is a hard reality-check. And that's how my story begins. My name is Izuku Midoriya.

It all started years ago, when a glowing infant was born. Ever since then, more and more individuals with unique talents began popping up all over the world. So-called fantasy became reality.

Today, 80% of the population has superhuman abilities called "quirks". The other 20%, as you can guess, is quirkless. I am part of that minority. Those powerful enough can be a hero. Heroism, the most popular occupation, can grant you fame, money, and power. This job, though, is only possible for the strongest and most able.

Being the only quirkless kid in my middle school class, bullying was a part of my everyday life. It was an endless cycle. Wake up, go to school, get bullied, go home, sleep, wake up... and everyday got harder. The main bully was Katsuki Bakugou, nicknamed Kacchan, meaning explosion and loud. As much as I hated to admit it, I admired him. He was bold, powerful, and a natural leader. Everything I wanted to be.

We used to be friends. He had his own little fanclub; one he would rule over with his explosively leading personality. I practically worshipped him. We would pretend to be heroes saving the world together. Eventually, everyone got their quirk, except me. That's when the bullying began.

My day started out like usual. The street I usually walk down was closed because of a villain attack, so I took the long way to school. As I was crossing the footbridge, I heard him.

"Hey loser! What's going on in that stupid quirkless head of yours?" Bakugou. Oh no.

"Hi Kacchan! Just heading to school, see you soon!" I squeaked, quickening my pace. With some luck, I could avoid a fight.

"Not so fast, idiot!" he yelled. Kacchan raced over to me and shoved me to the ground.

"Where is my homework?" he asked. I forgot to do it... I was doomed.

"Hah, I can't believe this" he muttered, "I'm going to make you wish you were never born!" He pushed me against the railing of the footbridge. I could feel my back pressed into the rail. Water churned and bubbled below.

"No, wait! Stop!" I stumbled, losing balance.

"What's wrong, stupid," he taunted, "afraid of heights?"

"No," I gasped, "I am going to f-!" I flipped backwards over the railing and I frantically reached for the railing. But, it was too late... I went weightless, with the wind creaming in my ears. My eyes flooded with tears and I could hear Bakugou yelling, confused. Then, I hit the cold water and everything went dark.

I made this years ago and it sucks so just letting you know-
