Villain Deku: Ivy

Ivy: Part 6

A woman opened the door. She had minty hair with streaks of white. She had gained weight and tired lines took up most of her face. Her faded grey eyes were the only part of her that showed any hint of emotion. They glittered with determination. Taped to the walls behind her were dozens of pictures of me as a kid. She gazed up at me, slowly, and she looked years younger as her lips parted into a smile. Her face lit up.

"I-Izuku?" her lips quivered.

"Yes mom, it's me. Izuku." She collapsed in my arms, tears running down her face. Gasping for air, she buried her face into my suit and tie.

"My son! You're finally home!" She grabbed my face in her hands. Then her expression changed.

"Where were you?" she said, grabbing my ear forcefully, "I have been looking for you for months! Why didn't you write? Even a simple note saying you are alive would have been made all the difference!"

"I am sorry mom, I really am." I put my arm around her. "I have been so busy..." She stopped and looked at me. She saw my suit, my swords, and my colder, harder expression.

"You are Ivy," she said quietly. "I may not know what happened to you, but I trust and love you. You have to go and get to safety. When you are able to, come back and tell me everything. You are always welcome here." She kissed my forehead.

"I love you, Izuku, with all my heart. Know that I support you, even as a villain." my eyes filled with tears. She had sacrificed so much for me, and this is how I had repaid her? By leaving her? I made a promise to myself then and there. When I was safe and everything was good, I would come back to her. She would never be lonely again. My mom smiled sadly, and pushed me out the door waving goodbye.

"Wait," I called, before the door shut. She poked her head through the doorway.

"I love you mom. I have missed you so much. I will be back, someday."
