I'm not my father. I will never be. For as long as I live, I will make sure of that. My name is Shoto Todoroki. This is my story.

"The police report that UA's damages are too severe to have classes for the students. Repairmen say that it will be another 5 months until the school can reopen. The villain Ivy has struck again, this time disguising himself as a student, then proceeding to destroy the majority of the school. Ivy has also kidnapped top-student Katsuki Bakugou. Please keep your eyes open for poor, brave Kacchan. He has blond hair, red eyes, and-" I turned off the TV and winced.

I have been in the nurse's office for hours now. The heroes found me surrounded by rubble, unconscious. I didn't beat Ivy. I couldn't prevent this. I could have done something, but I was too weak. Somehow, I will have to get stronger faster, so I can beat this villain who destroyed my school and hurt my friends.

"Shoto, you're free to go," the nurse opened the curtains, "don't do anything stupid and don't blame yourself for this tragedy." Her words went in one ear and out the other. We need to get Bakugou back before he gets killed. Or worse...he joins them. But something is still bothering me. Is there something I don't know about Ivy and Bakugou? Ivy seemed to watch and target him. And he wasn't scared of the bullying. He just looked tired of it.

If there is one thing I have learned at UA, it is that being a hero is taking risks for the good of the world. I know it is not my place to fight, but I have to avenge my school. All the evacuated kids sat in the sports field waiting for news and for friends in the hospital. No one died, thank goodness, but there are a lot of injuries. I headed over to class 2-A and I pulled over some of my friends, the people I know I can trust. The people I knew who would come with me to get Bakugou, too. Ida, Uraraka, Tsuyu, and Kirishima.

"I'm going after Bakugou. Anyone want to come?" They looked uncertain, like they are conflicted about this, too.

"I don't know," Uraraka said, "the authorities said to stay here..."

"I am coming," Kirishima growled, "Bakugou is my friend and we are future heroes. It is our job to help take down the villains!"

"I will come too. Bakugou might be a jerk, but he is one of us," Ida said uneasily. Tsuyu bit her lip. "I will come if Uraraka goes."

"I am coming. He is a class A student after all." Uraraka took an unsteady breath.

"Alright, we are leaving in 10 minutes. I grabbed a tracker and put it on Ivy when we were fighting." That was risky. I was surprised he didn't notice.

We quietly left the sports field and followed the tracker to an abandoned warehouse on the edge of the city, a few miles away from school. I stopped to tie my shoes when I heard the crinkling of paper in my pocket. Someone must have put a note in my pocket when I was unconscious. That was strange. I opened the note and read carefully. My eyes widened and suddenly everything made sense. Why Ivy always glared at Bakugou, why Bakugou was kidnapped, and why Ivy didn't tell me the truth at lunch earlier. They did have a past, and it was all Bakugou's fault. I knew what I had to do.
