13-Cavalry Battle

Note: I'M BACK ON SCHEDULE!!! It was so hard, but I'm gonna keep to my schedule as much as possible. Also, I'm not sorry, you'll see why.

The last few students filed in, having just been healed by recovery girl. Midnight stepped back up to the podium once again, having re-entered the center of the stadium. She started talking and everyone around her grew silent. She stated that the 42 students that finished the obstacle course first have earned the right to advance, while the other students have failed. She announced the second event of the Sports Festival: The Cavalry Battle. The top students form teams of 2-4 for this event and earn points by grabbing headbands from the other teams. The number of points each student is worth is dependent on their placement in the Obstacle Race.

She also revealed that I, who placed 1st, am an exception to the points rule and am instead worth 10 million points. Of course, I already knew this, but it didn't stop the rest of the contestants from staring at me in shock, and it definitely didn't stop me from being just as anxious as the last time I went through this challenge. 

Midnight explained that the time for the Cavalry Battle is 15 minutes and that the point value of each team will be the total accumulation of each of the headbands taken. She said the one to wear the total point accumulated headband will be the rider. She continued to explain that the headband can only be worn around the head or the neck, and that if a team crumbles or loses a headband, that team is not out of the game. Midnight said that Quirks can be used but cannot be used for malicious aim. She ordered the students to begin team negotiations and that we all had 15 minutes to team up.

The students around me began teaming up, and, just like last time, I was having trouble finding a team due to the amount of points I'm worth. However, also like last time, Ochaco approached me and asks to team up with me, saying that she would rather team up with friends. I thought it was sweet, and I knew she would be helpful on my team, so I agreed. Todoroki then came up and asked to be on my team, followed by Shinso with the same question. I agreed, realizing that we had what was most likely the best team in the arena.

The fifteen minutes have passed and Midnight spoke up once again to announce that the Cavalry Battle will begin soon. My team, Team Midoriya, had been formed; consisting of me as the rider, and Todoroki, Shinso, and Ochako as the head of the horse. Just before we started, I told Uraraka to touch all five finger to me, but hold onto me so I wouldn't fly away. She was skeptical, but did as I asked, trusting me to have a good idea.

Midnight came forward one last time to announce that the Cavalry Battle had begun. Immediately, Team Monoma- consisting of Monoma, Kendo, Shiozaki, and Tetsutetsu- charged us, Monoma reaching straight for the thousand point headband. I ducked, my team moving to the side as Monoma's team kept rushing at us. 

"Now," I whispered, and Uraraka let go of me, letting me float upward as the other team tried to  grab me. Just before I floated completely out of arm length from the other team, I reached down to snag the 200 point headband wrapped loosely around Monoma's neck, and came up with a 200 point and a 500 point headband.

He yelled un rage as I floated completely out of reach into the sky. Shiozaki, under Monoma on the left side, shot out her vines in an attempt to grab me. The vines wrapped around my ankle just as Todoroki severed them with his fire. 

The vines wrapped around my ankle started writhing, still being controlled by Shoizaki's quirk. They snaked their way up my leg and evaded my grasp every time I tried to grab them. I started to feel light headed; the higher I floated, the less oxygen I had, and my competitors knew that. I'd have to drop down eventually, but I wasn't sure I wouldn't injure my team mates if I dropped from this height.
