(Der POV)

"All right, she's out. 10 blade." Bailey said. I sat by Merediths head, stroking it softly. I watched as Bailey made the first cut. "You know, she's my favorite intern. Apart from her getting involved with an attending, she's talented and shes good person. She doesn't let anything that happened to her affect who she is. She's strong, and I admire that about her." Bailey said. I was shocked by Baileys words, knowing that she really cared about her interns, but apparently especially Meredith. "And you know, we had a premie who was left at a fire station who we were tending for, and I watched Meredith hold the baby and talk to her. I remember her telling the baby that it was gonna be alright, and that she didn't need her parents to succeed. She gently rocked the baby and coddled her. That's when I knew she was also going to be an amazing mother someday. So you better not let her go, you hear me?" She asked. I was astounded by her words. "I will never let her go. I have no doubt that someday if she wants she will be the mother of my children. She's the love of my life, and I will never let her go." I said lovingly. "Good. Well, we're done, so let's get her into recovery." Bailey said. I followed Miranda and scrubbed out. When I was done, I went to sit down in Meredith's room. She looked so peaceful, even though she had just come through surgery and had a nasal cannula. I could see her hands twitched. I knew it wouldn't be long before she woke up. I decide to shut my eyes for a minute, resting my head on merediths bed.

I suddenly woke up from a nudging on my head. I look up to be greeted with merediths beautiful green eyes. "Hey." She said. "Hi. How are you feeling?" I asked. "I'm good, feeling better." She explained. "That's good." I said. "How long do I have to stay in the hospital?" She questioned. "Probably only 2-3 days, depending on how you feel." I explained. She yawned and said "okay." "It's okay, you can sleep, it's late." I said as I looked over at the clock that read 11pm. And with that, she fell asleep, and so did I.
