This is an idea I had after I listened to the Lightning Thief Musical soundtrack. Enjoy.Normally, Annabeth loved the singalongs at the campfire. But not today. Why, you ask. It's simple: the Littlest Minotaur.
It was a stupid, childish song that the Apollo cabin had come up with and turned into a game. Once every few weeks, a camper would be randomly chosen to sing the ridiculous song in a high pitched and humiliating baby voice. And the chosen camper didn't have the option to refuse and were forced to sing loud and clear as well as respect the song rules. If they didn't, they were forced to repeat the song.
Now, as head counselor of cabin six and savior of Olympus, Annabeth had a certain reputation. And this sort of thing was exactly what she didn't need added to her list of achievements.
So whenever the Apollo cabin announced they were going to play that song, she always felt anxious and even considered praying not to get picked.
"All right! And today's chosen camper is..." Will paused for a few seconds for dramatic effect.
"Annabeth Chase!" he announced.
Annabeth felt the blood drain from her face as smirks spread across the faces of the other demigods.
"Annabeth, you know you have to."
She glanced at her boyfriend and shook her head vigorously.
Percy smiled and placed a hand on her shoulder."Wise Girl, the faster you do this the faster it's over." he told her.
She wanted to argue with him, tell him he was wrong. Except he wasn't. There was no way around it. She had to do it.
So, bracing for the following embarrassment, she nodded towards the Apollo cabin. They smiled and began playing. Then, after nervously clearing her throat, she joined in with the best baby voice she could make.
"I am the wittlest Minotaur, the wittlest Minotaur in the world.
I have the wittlest hooves, and the wittlest horns that are a little bit curled.
Other monsters don't think I'm tough!
Cyclops is a jerk!
Just wait until I show my stuff, even though my woar doesn't weally work."She stopped, dreading the next part the most.
"Come on, Annabeth. You have to do it." Will told her.
Annabeth mumbled the line under her breath, hoping it would be enough for her to continue. She wasn't so lucky though.
"We couldn't hear that, Annabeth." Will pointed out.
She wanted to disappear. To put on her Yankees cap and vanish. But she couldn't. So she sang the line.
"WOOOAAR! I'm woking on it!"
A wave of sniggers could be heard across the amphitheater as everyone tried their best not to laugh at the blonde's misery.
"I am the wittlest Minotaur, and some day soon they'll see!
That great things come from wittle Minotaurs.""That great things come from little Minotaurs." the others sang, joining in for the last part.
"Small but vewy scawy Minotaurs."
"Small but very scary Minotaurs."
"Tiny, fearsome, awesome Minotaauurs!
Just like meeee!"The amphitheater filled with cheers as the music stopped and Annabeth did her best to disappear into her seat.
"Now, we need an evaluation of her performance. Percy, how do you think Annabeth did?" Will asked.
Everyone stayed quiet as they waited for Percy's verdict. He leaned forward and looked straight at Annabeth. She could see the glint of poorly contained amusement in his sea green eyes.
"Annabeth." he began.
She did her best to calm her heartbeat as she waited for him to finish.
"You are the cutest, littlest Minotaur I have ever heard."
Annabeth felt her cheeks burning up as the amphitheater erupted with cheers again.
She tried her best (without much success) to glare at him, as Percy kept a wide smile on his face.
"I hate you, Seaweed Brain."
He laughed and pulled her into a loving hug.
"I love you too, Wise Girl."
