Chapter 11- A Child?

N I G H T M A R E

I was in my throne room looking through a journal, it simply had a few plans that I had written out. Cross was here having a small chat about the newest mission I assigned them. "Look Nightmare I understand the point of this but I don't get why we don't aim for the Universes that we have access to?"

"Because we have access to them. The universes that I'm able to get into have already become...mine. Those other universes I can't get into, well...I can't get into." Cross rolled his eyes.

"I just don't see the point we already have thousands of universes at our disposal. We shouldn't waste time getting more, if anything we should be focusing on farming those universes you apparently claimed." I dropped the notebook to my side.

"Look," I say leaning forward as I rest my elbows on my legs. "I make the decisions here, you're nothing more than a simple pawn I'm using. You have no authority here." I say with a soft smile. Cross gave a hostile glare. In his right hand, he was summoning his knife. "Watch it, without me you won't be able to achieve what you want, now are you?" I said cocking my head to the side. Cross scoffed and looked away. He teleported away. "Stupid scumbag," I mumble to myself and lean back on the throne. I grabbed the journal and kept looking through it. I place my right leg onto my left one. I kept flipping through the pages. "Error!" I called out. I waited for a response. He's probably still busy. "Error!" I called again, clearly not caring if he was. It was quiet with no response. "E-!"

"I'M CoMMmiNG!" His glitchy voice echoed between the walls. A portal opened from my left. Error peeked his head out. He gave annoyed look. "WhAAAaT!" He called out. I sighed. I leaned to my left on the armrest.

"Have you finished?" I asked as Error stepped out. He rolled his eyes as the portal started to close.

"NnOo-"

"Dad!" Called a pipsqueak voice. They squeezed through the portal before it closed. Dad?

He wore a blue sweater with black ink like features on the bottom of it, a hot pink like shirt with a golden shape in the middle, a tan yellow scarf with the tip floating behind the scarf, yellow shorts, pink shoes, his body is black like gray color, his eye sockets are hot pink, the right color of his eye is yellow while the left had a golden star and a blue color eye in the middle.

"Did you lie to me?" I said with a scoff. Error opened his mouth to speak. Before he could say anything I held my hand up. "It wasn't meant to be answered," I said as I stood and headed to the small child. I stood in front of him. I give a glance down to the child. I then kneel down. He looked at me terrified. I gave a small smile. "Are you scared?" His eyes widen. He shook his head. "Is that so? Then why are you shaking?" He shrugs shyly. I get up. "Error, leave," I say. Error rolls his eyes. He grabs the child's hand. "Leave them here."

"WwhHy?! Dd-"

"Leave," I repeated. Again Error opened his mouth to speak. "Goodness Error," I lifted my hand. Error's soul turned black. I flicked my hand to the left as another portal opened up and he was launched in. The portal closed before Error was able to escape.

"Now with him out of the way." I teleport to my throne and took a seat. The child stood there, confused. "Come here," I commanded. He looked at me frightened. "I won't hurt you....not yet that is......" I say quietly. He walked up to me, slowly. I roll my eye. "Hurry up," I say harshly. His eyes widen he started to walk faster.

He tripped.

I roll my eye once again. I sent a tentacle picking him up and bringing him back to me. I brought him in close to my face. His eyes were getting teary. "Stop crying." I say sternly shaking him.

"St-stop!" He yelled.

I stopped. "Finally talked," I said with a grin and dropped him. He fell with a thud. "Do you have a name?" I asked as I place my feet on the armrest of my throne.

"I-I do." He said. I give him a cold glare. "M-my name i-is P-paperjam." He said trembling.

"Do you have any powers? Attacks?" He shrugs shyly. I roll my eye again. "God, you're as idiotic as the person that created you." I snap my fingers.

A bunch of black bones crawled out of the ground shooting straight up. Charging straight at Paperjam. His face lit up with fear. He put his hands on his head. The bones were getting closer. As they were about to hit him he teleported away. I look around. Where did he go? I hear something falling, but where? "Mr. Meanie! Watch out!" Screamed the high pitched voice. I looked up. He was falling. I was going to move but it was too late.

He landed on my "stomach". As he jumped off me he was giggling. As he landed on the ground he smiled. "Hey Mr. can we do that again that was fun!" Exclaimed Paperjam. He looks at me.

My eye was twitching. I got up from my throne and stood there. I feel my tentacles twitching behind me. "I-I'm sorry mister." He said innocently.

"Sorry, doesn't cut it, kid."

He's trembling. "C-can I do something to make you feel better!" He said nervously. I walk up to him. I crouch a bit.

"I want you to answer one more question, and you have to say the honest truth, but if you lie to me..." I immediately strangle him with my tentacles. One around his neck. "You're really not going to like what happens next," I say giving him a death glare. The small body started to squirm.

A few bright blue strings rained down around me. They tightened and squeezed around me. I let go of him as I teleported away from the strings. The strings wrapped around Paperjam and tossed him up. A portal opened and immediately closed as soon as he went through. I reformed by my throne and held onto my arm. The light from those stupid strings!

I groaned as I looked up. "Come on Error! I thought you were into that stuff? I couldn't even test that, anomaly, out!" I say shouting at the walls. I waited for a response. "Oh Error, you've always been rebellious," I mumble as I picked up the papers and sat back down. "Makes me wonder where your loyalties lie."
