Hi. just to say thanks so much for reading this :)

Heartbroken. Utterly heartbroken. But I won't let myself cry, at least not yet. I need to make it up with my best friend first.

I find her in the canteen, ordering a coffee. Her cheeks are flushed and there seems to be an anger radiating off her. I slowly walk up to her, trying to work out what to say. She turns, catching sight of me. And then, the most surprising thing happens. She runs across the canteen, ignoring the stares we're getting and throws her arms around me. "I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have reacted that way! The truth is...I love you and Jamie and I'm super happy for you guys!" This all spills from her mouth.

"No Ellie, I'm sorry! So sorry. I should've told you, but..." I trail off. I'm not really sure what to say to be honest. We sit down at a nearby table and talk it out. I explain everything. The Seven-minutes in -Heaven game, the night in the tower. She nods, but it's impossible to miss how hurt she seems. "I have to go. I told Binah I'd do some maths riddle she found." Ellie says apologetically, standing. It's ten past four. We've been here an hour. "Yeah ok. Catch you later." I stand with her, hugging her close. She smells like coffee.

I watch her go before making my way up to my dorm. Maybe now I'd let myself cry. I stick my earphones in my ears and plug them into my phone, opening Spotify. I bypass the playlist 'Jottie' and go straight for 'Disney hits'. I'm humming along to 'Reflection' when I bump into someone. I open my mouth to apologise when I realise, it's Haru.
