Harry chapter 20
I walked home with my hands in my pockets. I walked up my creaky porch steps careful not to wake my mom. I quietly opened the screen door to my house. I hung my coat up in the closet and put my keys on the counter. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a newspaper ad for the Xfactor. I laughed to myself. It's always been my dream to be famous but I highly doubt that could happen. My mom came down the stairs wrapped in a pink robe.
"Did you see the X factor ad?" She asked.
I nodded and grabbed the newspaper.
"Isn't that something you wanted to do?" She added.
I nodded and looked at her.
"I don't know how I would tell Brooke though." I admitted
She looked at me still Half asleep and confused.
"Brooke...?" She asked
"My girlfriend." I replied
My mother nodded and gestured I carried on with my sentence.
"I think I'm going to do it." I said with a half smile.
My mother smiled and shuffled across the floor to hug me. She kissed me on the cheek and said,
"You'll do great Harry."
She walked back up stairs and quietly closed the door. I slumped back in my chair. I glared at the advertisement and began to smile. Now I just have to find a way to tell Brooke, I thought to myself. I think I have the perfect way.
