Hunter's POV:
It was just past two in the morning as I began speeding down the highway, attempting to get Katie off of my mind. Katie and I had been dating exclusively for the past five years but ended things about three months back. The stress of our reality had become to much to handle. Between my job and Katie finishing up with college,we never had time for each other anymore. Now I probably seemed like A complete fool with tear-stained cheeks and overly puffed eyelids, blaming myself for even letting the thought of ending things with a girl who never wanted to give up cross my crazy mind.
Katie's POV:
I laid in my lonely king sized bed staring at the ceiling, watching the fan spin around endlessly as I thought about Hunter, my ex-boyfriend. Countless thoughts of regret ran through my head. I should've never let him walk away. I wasn't the type of girl who gave up without a fight, but that day I had no more energy to try and talk him out of leaving. It's been three months and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake all of the memories we'd made. I even made the attempt to block his number but that didn't last for more than an hour. His leather jacket still hangs in my closet, but I never have the courage to return it to him or even just give it away. I still sleep in his shirt night after night hopelessly thinking that maybe he'll come back to me. He never does.
--A Few Months Later--
Hunter's POV:
I sat at the bar of a local nightclub, drinking a beer with Sam and Devo. They had told me it was a good idea to get out and get the breakup off my mind. I agreed, only to satisfy them. As I set the half empty bottle of alcohol on the table, I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see the beautiful girl that never left my mind. "Hi Hunter." Katie said softly. "Hello." I replied with a nervous quiver in my tone. "How are you?" She asked. "I'm alright. You?" "I could better." She replied "I miss you." I spoke in honesty. "I miss you too, Hunter." She replied. "Dance with me?" I asked nervously. I sensed her hesitation before she responded. "Sure." She said with a little smile. I smiled back, grabbing her hand and leading her onto the dance floor. She wrapped her arms around my neck as my arms went to her waist. I swayed back and fourth gently to the music. She laid her head on my chest. "Katie?" I asked in her ear. "Yeah?" "I need you back in my life." She looked up at me and spoke softly, "I need you too, Hunter." She replied. It was then that I kissed her passionately, and she kissed me back, proving the endless love we shared.
