Hunter's POV:
I groaned as I opened my eyes, looking around just trying to remember what happened. It wasn't long after looking at the far too bright room with both walls and floor covered in white ... I was in a hospital room. I looked to my right to see my Mom in the small chair by the window. "Mom?" I said groggily. She looked up and immediately rushed to my bedside. "Honey. You're awake," She sighed in relief, "how are you feeling?" "Like I just got hit by a train." I said quietly, my head pounding like never before. "You and Cass were in an accident, honey." She whispered. It was then I remembered. By trying to escape the cops, Cass and I had been in accident. We had sped down the highway, the car had spun out of control and hit the guardrail. The last thing I remember was the car sliding down into a ditch. The rest, is black.

Cass' POV:
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? DRINKING AND GOING OUT, DRIVING RECKLESSLY?!" My Mom screamed at me, after I had just woken up in a hospital bed. She didn't even have the compassion to ask if I was ok. I tried my best to ignore her, focusing on head that was pounding endlessly. "CASS, ARE YOU LISTENING?" My Mom screamed. I sighed, "Yes mom. Ok? Yes. I'm sorry." "What were you thinking? You could've died tonight." My mom said, now in a calmer, yet stern tone. "I wanted to see Hunter, and you wouldn't let me." I said simply, finally getting to explain myself to her. "He's a bad person, Cass." I sat up a little in bed. "Mom, if you give him a chance, he's not. He's really the opposite. The reason we rebel against you, is because you don't give us a chance." I said quietly. She sighed. "Cass, I'm sorry," she let a tear fall, "it's just, I remember the way I was at seventeen, and I don't want you to make the same mistakes I did." I motioned her closer, and sat on the edge of the bed, really listening now. "Mom, you have to let me make my mistakes. Right? You always say that when you make a mistake, you learn from it, and in the end, it'll make you an even better person." I told her. She smiled a little, nodding. "That's true. I did say that." She said. "If you give Hunter a chance from now on, I promise to act my age, and listen to you more." She hugged me gently. "That's a deal."

--
It's been about a month since the accident happened, and things have been going smoother between my Mom and I. She's given a Hunter a chance, and actually grown to like him. I hadn't felt the need to rebel now, and I finally am beginning to feel like the real me. Hunter has gotten better as well. Our fake ID's are now in the trash, and we go on age appropriate dates, if my Mom approves. After the experience that night, practically a near death one, it taught me that I need to be more careful, and not live so carelessly. I looked out the window to see that Hunter's car pulled in the driveway. I walked in the kitchen. "Mom, Hunter's here." I said with a smile. "Ok honey, be safe." She replied. "I always am." I said, remembering to stay true to my age.
